All the imitators are pretty good at doing this breathy singing style, Gashina was definitely a lot easier, but this was still much more clear than round 1. Idk how she got eliminated here lol, she's still quite obvious to me, but at least the imitators are doing well. Maybe it's because they're imitating the original recording while Sunmi is simply singing as herself now rather than herself years ago, so the audience just felt it was different.

A lot of people have this idea of what Sunmi /should/ sound like exactly because of the recording done years ago, but she has grown a lot vocally over the years. For fans it is definitely easier to pick Sunmis voice out ^^

i'm not even a fan and I could pick her up right away because of that yeah... the other ones are extremely similar, but they sing in the same way as the recorded song, while Sunmi just sang, Also, the other voices were breathy, but Sunmi even breathy singing was more powerful

Sunmi was singing in a more mature way compared to when the song debuted. The contestants were mimicking her voice from years ago. his can be considered a win for her. Her vocals have improved and changed

I would laugh my heart out if I was her, tbh. Like, you're playing a game where they guess which one is the real you, and they eliminate you? Sounds more like winning to me. Honestly, these people ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

i'm a miya-ne but i didn't think people would have such a hard time with this one,, i thought her signature sound and some key octaves and notes were very clear each time. especially because you are instructed to pick who sounds the least like her, i feel like people were picking "who sounds closest but isn't actually sunmi". well at least i can rest assured that i know her voice!

omg i had these exact same thoughts too! there are definitely other candidates who are 100% not her, yet they didn't get chosen. very sure people are choosing "who sounds closest but isn't actually sunmi" as what you said!

i love such shows where Sunmi can meet her fans, because she deserves to know how amazing she is and how loved she is. she deserves everything!

They all sang really well! Number 2 had me fooled almost but something about number 3 just had a gut feeling. A lot of people know how Sunmi sings but this song was recorded years ago. She’s grown up since then and voice has matured. Good jobs ladies!

I followed the show and picked Sunmi right every round, kinda thrilling but it was fun! Seeing Sunmi doing a show and connecting with fans through it, is so heartwarming

I’m surprised they didn’t vote #1 out. she sounded the least like Sunmi. i could understand them being confused between 2-4, but #1 was an easy out.

Fr. 1 was the weakest in the 3rd round (for that song).

Pls everyone, you need to know that not everyone is going to know a celebrity's voice easily, not everyone watching this video and in the crowd is the biggest fan of sunmi so of course some people are still going to struggle I guess lets just be happy that Sunmi performed one of our favotites songs

I know a Sunmi gasp when i hear one, but the others really did well that i almost got dumbfounded. But she was definitely number 3.

I admire Sunmi so much for her warm attitude towards her fans and how she took the elimination so gracefully.

I guessed correctly each round. Proudest moment as a Sunmi fan! Move over Cha Hyunseung you are no longer needed.

This is the hardest Hidden Singer episode ever. I feel bad for Sunmi. But all the other contestants was amazing.

I can’t believe that Sunmi was eliminated! This round was much easier for me to guess correctly as opposed to the first round. I wonder what threw off the audience so much. Anyone know what the rules are when the original singer is eliminated? Regardless of the result, I think that fans have to understand that the “celebrity status” comes from so much more than just the voice. Some of the other things to consider are appearance, personality, dance ability, stage presence, creativity, drive, training, interpersonal relationships, and being at the right time at the right place. Sunmi is the total package when it comes to that. If anything, this Show is proof that Sunmi is/was so influential that an entire generation of girls growing up in Korea wanted to emulate her and her iconic sound. As long as she wants to be in the industry, she will continue to influence future generations. As a Dreamcatcher fan, I know that one of my favorite singers wouldn’t even have considered joining the K-Pop world if it weren’t for Sunmi and Wonder Girls… and for that, I am extremely thankful. Sunmi, Hwaiting!

The audiences over there might heard something different from us, since we're listening to clean version. Not to mention, Sunmi's actual singing style has changed over the years, this is why with older songs it's even harder to guess bc Sunmi herself sung it in different ways

Wow it has been such a long time since I've seen Favorite ~ I hope they get to have another comeback or two before their contracts expire. Loca was one of my favorite songs in 2019!

I only had hard time with 'Full Moon' but after that I knew exactly in which room Sunmi was, poor Sunmi I hope that she was not sad ;c

I think the reason why she kept getting almost eliminated in this song is because she's changed her technique of singing since she left JYP. She used to do half air half voice whereas now she uses more of her voice. It's not that she sang badly it's just because for this song people are used to hearing the half air half voice sound which she wasn't using. I think she's probably forgotten how to use that technique since she doesn't use it anymore but if you notice for Gashina everyone knew who she was Hopefully she doesn't feel bad

The richness(?) of her voice is q distinct, so 3 was a clear pick for me

I think that actually might be what was throwing people. Everyone else was putting that deep/rich/breathy tone her voice is kinda known for on very heavily while she was obviously just singing naturally as herself So people heard more Sunmi trademarks in the other voices without noticing how much they don't seem to be a natural part of the singer's voice

When the first woman appeared I immediately thought: "Wow, she looks a lot like Saebom from Favorite", turned out it was actually her. xD I'm glad to hear some news from them, because I love them so much, but they basically vanished from the face of the Earth for the past 2 years, and I was already resigned to the idea they had one of those silent disbands.

It’s very easy to know who is sunmi she have her own way to do the breathy voice but all the imitators are good

I was right again! I guess it's that easy to distinguish her voice from the rest. It's so unique. No matter how hard someone tries to imitate her voice, they can't get it 100%.

The imitators did super great when they sang the verses. But the "24시간"one were obvious. It's tricky for some of the audience cuz sunmi changed the way she sings but the imitators imitated the original version of the song so their voices might be more familiar to the audience.

I'm not a fan of Sunmi's music, but even I guessed her voice for every time. How the viewers of the program could not, hearing live, I don’t understand 😃

Really gotta listen carefully, differentiate all at once. Can’t believe she’s eliminated!

This was hard for me, however I did guess correctly. I was having a little bit of a hard time choosing between 3 and 4, but ended up guessing Sunmi correctly. I would've expected the confusion to be between the first and second contestant even if the votes between all of them would be close. So it's a little surprising so many people voted for Sunmi. Even as someone who doesn't listen to much of Sunmi's music (granted the song is possibly her most popular one) my first instinct wasn't to vote for 3.

The final 3 is just too good. They all sound amazing

I'm not a fan of hers and honestly this round was not that hard to guess even if you've never listened to her before this show. Everyone else was very obviously trying to sound a certain way and it made #3 stand out. You'll just have to connect that with the way Sunmi sings in the previous round and her reminder that she's now using a different vocal technique compared to her (older) breathier songs to realize that she is #3.

I figured it all out, and it's not that long since I listened to her songs especially her recent song "heart burn" , it's kinda easy for me maybe because I based her voice on her recent song-tune which sound naturally her,I think they got it wrong for the reason that they based it to a past version in other words literally the same to the recording. 💗😺

I think hearing it live inside the studio might be different than hearing it at home after all the editing. I've watched a few of these already, and a lot of the time, I've noticed fans commenting how obvious it was, whilst it didn't seem obvious to the people closest to the singer. I feel like, in the studio, the multiple speakers and reverbs make it sound different, whilst at home, it is very clear, and they use the sound directly from the microphone, rather than the sound that comes from the speakers in the studio. That makes the most sense, as coming from a film student.

I'm not even a big fan of Sunmi but I knew it was #3. The 3 impersonators were very good, but Sunmi's execution was perfect as someone whose job is to execute their talent artfully and flawlessly esp from a very experienced performer.

at first i thought sunmi was number 1 but when i heard that part i switched to number 3 because i felt that only sunmi will sound like that. I am pretty sure that the rest practiced so hard to sound perfect like sunmi if you get what i mean

Honestly no. 1 sounded a lot like Sunmi, the breathiness. I always get confused between her and Sunmi. Number no. 2 had a little bit of angst to her so its easier to tell.

Their channel is "Favorite Official" and they have a bunch of vids including vlogs, but Covid kinda derailed everything including their Japanese debut. It still happened, but they didn't get to promote it properly too much.

It was very obvious that none of the imitators had the same type of husky yet nasally thin voice that Sunmi has. I'm starting to think the audience tends to assume the idol singer has a thicker, deeper voice than they actually do, or maybe the live acoustics are messing with them - this was also the problem with Taeyeon's episode where people kept assuming the girl with the deepest voice was Taeyeon when it was at least obvious to me that it wasn't her.

I'm reminded of that famous story - which is most likely not true - about how Charlie Chaplin entered a Charlie Chaplin look-a-like contest and lost badly. Many other contestants were deemed to look more like Charlie Chaplin than Chaplin himself.
