I’m a turner in the western tradition, every time I see the Japanese masters turn I’m so very impressed. I hope people realize that these masters make almost all of their own tools, and have techniques that they have developed, I don’t think this kind of turning is taught in any vocational school, it’s learned at the feet of other masters. I’ve always wondered how the Japanese turners get such thin beautiful bowls, but I see the bowl within a bowl jam chuck is the answer to that question. I enjoyed the video, thanks.
