4K・ Japan - Rainy Kyoto Arashiyama, Kameyama Park and bamboo grove ・ 4K

Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
As promised I went to Kyoto, unfortunately taifun came same weekend. I spent whole day soaking in the rain and took several videos but because of multiple problems I decided to go home same day. Osaka and Nara will be some other weekend.

I love that view. One of my favorite views from my whole time in Japan. I love how there is that tiny shrine building halfway up the mountain - how does anyone even get up there!? When I was there, I saw a monk walk into the little shrine, and all the sudden we heard him playing a traditional Japanese string instrument from across the river. It was muted from all the distance, but it was just serene.

This is so much better than the video I took in 2012 lol. Thanks for letting me relive memory in HD 60fps. It's crazy to think that even 50, 100, 500 years from now, this video will look exactly the same as today.

It's May, 2020, and I'm sitting at home during Covid-19 quarantine in St. Ben's, Chicago on a rainy afternoon, while going on a virtual walk in Arashiyama, Kyoto on a rainy afternoon lol. This was lovely, it's my kind of weather...I love walking and hiking in drizzly weather when not a lot of people are around and things are quiet and more natural. Hoping to get back out into the world soon, and hope you all are safe and healthy and making the best of this forced hiatus...the world on pause. What will we become when we all emerge, I wonder?
