    Yeah I watch video like this and I feel like I'm missing out. But then I remember I live in a forest surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife, and there are lot of people living in cities like this who wish they could be where I'm at. And honestly I've lived in plenty of cities, and no matter how amazing some may look, they are still subject to the same pitfalls that drove me to the country in the first place.

    I spent 10 years traveling, but "only" in 30 countries because I wanted to stay a long time in each place, and I stayed 6 months in Japan. I completely agree with you, it's funny how it's so different than everything else, and so safe. You can literally leave your stuff on the street, wallet, camera and all, come back hours later and it will still be there (or maybe the police station will have it, waiting for you).

    I'm too afraid to go out at night in my mid-sized American town, plus it's boring and dirty, so I watch Travel TV and am amazed by the cleanliness, safety, and futuristic look of Tokyo. What a city! If I were younger, I'd like to visit, but I'm 72 and just don't have the energy to walk the town and see the sights, which seem endless. Particularly ironic that Japan lost the war against us, yet they're doing much better than we are in virtually every category. We're larger with low quality; they're smaller with sky-high quality. What goes down must go up, I guess.

    Well after world war 2 we told japan they could only maintain a defense force and where not allowed to build up a military. Thus, all the money Japan used to pump into their military instead was re-directed into infrastructure and other public programs. Plus they started manufacturing electronics for export.

    honestly Japan is one of the most beautiful countries on this earth. everything is so clean, the people are all polite and smiling having a good time, the construction and efforts for upkeep are truly next level. no trash anywhere, even all of their glass fences and windows are spotless. crime must be next to nonexistent there, you see bikes just sitting around without locks and scooters and motorcycles just casually parked all over alleyways. it is the number one country that I would want to visit, especially Tokyo. it must be amazing to be lucky enough to live there

    I appreciate Japan for what it is naturally, but I'm tired of those naive people who talk about its inhabitants as if they are absolute angels. I once met an arrogant Japanese girl who asked me to stop watching these videos, but I go where I want. she told me that reading my negative comments saddened her but I was telling the truth about her culture. what if we speak their language badly? she refused to admit that her compatriots have many cultural flaws! these people have ego and hypocrisy issues.

    This can't happen in the USA. The cleanliness, the hygienic people. It's something to behold - virtually no gang graffiti, hardly any cops on patrol. Some smaller towns in the USA sure but never in a big city. Thank you Japan and Tokyo metro for showing the world some people can walk in a city at night. Your culture worked it out. A symbiosis that can only occur when citizens as a whole love their country and culture.

  • @ghostofcoolidge245

    @ghostofcoolidge245

    You can't have multi-culturalism and Japan/Europe. I'll start my statement off by saying diversity is a strength far more than it's a weakness, but if you get past the leftist propaganda campaign, diversity has weaknesses. Some cultures value cleanliness, law, and order. Some don't. When you have a large country of different kinds of people with different priorities, you can get some beautiful and some ugly scenes. In the same state, you can have cities and counties as safe and clean as Japan while having some cities and counties that look straight out of Africa. You can get counties and cities armed to the teeth, with tons and tons of guns, but a single digit number of homicides, and you can get cities and counties gun controlled to the teeth, and have hundreds and hundreds of yearly murders. Freedom is what you make of it. Ugly people make freedom ugly, sound people make freedom beautiful. The USA is a wolf. Wolves are dirty, smelly, covered in fleas, sometimes anorexic and starving, other times marvelous, strong, majestic, and respectable. It's up to the wolf to keep itself in any condition, and it depends on the actions of the wolf whether they're anorexic or powerful. Norway is clean, beautiful, safe, and universally so. There's no small blotches of blight on the country of Norway. But Norway is a poodle. And poodles don't get dirty, they don't go hungry, they're not covered in fleas, they're never inconvenienced, and they don't have to do for themselves. Life as a poodle might be great for some, but for others, they'll take the risk of being a wolf even if it means failure. Sorry, this rant is inspired by a noticeable trend that whenever I look at walking tours in countries that aren't the US, it inevitably turns into "Wow, this country is so magnificent, unlike the shitty, dirty, slobbish USA!" Yes, we have flaws. In a diverse and free country, this is the consequence. You have the freedom to be ugly
