Back in 2016 on my way to the Philippines I purposely chose a flight with a 13 hour layover in Tokyo so I could go roam around the city for a few hours. Landed at Haneda around midnight, went through customs and figured out how to take the bus into the city by 2 AM. Got off one of the first stops and just walked for hours, was completely lost and didn't care. Tokyo is an amazing city.

Bruh I live in New York and its crazy to see such nice architecture and no garbage everywhere in one city. Shibuya is so stunningly beautiful at night

Japan seems like a place where you can walk around anytime of night and still feel very safe.

It is well worth it. I spent 16 days in Tokyo, Yokohama, Kyoto and Hiroshima in the summer of 2019 and it is my best travel experience in the 10 years that I actively travel. I strongly recommend going when you have the opportunity again.

53:10 I remember walking around Harajuku with my friend discovering this shrine. I felt like I was the first person to ever step foot in there. That's how it feels to discover Tokyo, like every single corner is a well kept secret. Can't wait to go back in some months!

24-hour convenience stores, shopping streets with everything you need, and infrastructure are in place, making life very convenient.

Its all so beautiful but the Togo Shrine segment is absolutely dream-like

No matter where you click on the timeline, there's something amazing to see. Can't wait to visit this country!

Though relatively brief - your video provides great insight into Tokyo - I love the feel - the sounds - the colors - the texture - the cleanliness - and the sense of freedom and safety - happy to see people out and about. Most of all I love the comments below - we all resonate with harmony - wherever we come from. We love the beauty and tranquility of a snowy night and the warmth of the glowing lights. The "cleanliness"? So, those aren't piled up bags of rubbish at 1:08:29 (and several more later on)? Plus, the "cardboard city" type place about 30 minutes later, the traffic cones all over the place, ugly, dirty metal railings by the roadside everywhere, and occasional graffiti. No idea how this city gets away with it, when people see stuff like that in Paris (a city that's a thousand times more beautiful than this concrete dump) you never hear the end of it. Rank hypocrisy.

Firstly, thank you for taking the time not only to walk the streets at night, but for the editing, uploading, etc. Loved this video and the first thing that really amazed me was how well the streets are lit at night. The entire duration of the walk I don't recall seeing a poorly lit area or spooky lane. Loved the Coca-Cola/vending machines located in such random places! What a great idea! I also noticed a clock in a window, it was 3:56am? Thanks again, look forward to more videos like this 🙂☃️🙂

Snow in Tokyo is a rare and beautiful thing. This was the first few days of proper snow in 5 years. Hopefully we'll get to see it again soon.

Love these videos - visited May 2019 and stayed in Shibuya and love seeing what has changed since we were there, and seeing what is nearby we never saw before. All going into the mix for our trips in May and October - if allowed in. As others have said, finest quality “walking tour” videos of a Tokyo.
