Zhengyangmen, commonly known as Qianmen, Qianmen Louzi, Daqianmen, formerly known as Lizhengmen, is the southern gate of the inner city of Beijing in the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is located at the southernmost end of Tiananmen Square on the north-south central axis of Beijing City, south of Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. Founded in the seventeenth year of Yongle's reign (1419), Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty, it is one of the "nine gates of the capital" in old Beijing. It integrates Zhengyangmen Gate Tower, Arrow Tower and Wengcheng, and is a complete ancient defensive building system. According to the local chronicles, the towers and arrow towers at that time were magnificent in scale and tall in shape; the Wengcheng was powerful and was the representative work of the old Beijing city wall architecture. Now only the towers and arrow towers remain, and they are the only well-preserved city gates in the city of Beijing. On the tower is the Beijing Folklore Exhibition Hall.
