4K cab view - Takayama Line limited express train "HIDA" Nagoya station to Toyama station, Japan

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Hida (ひだ Hida) is a limited express train service operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) along the Takayama Main Line in central Japan. The service runs from Nagoya Station (with one service a day from Osaka Station rather than Nagoya) via Gifu and Gero stations to Takayama in just over two hours.
After typhoon Tokage in 2004, the track suffered major damage from flooding. As a result, instead of going all the way to Toyama Station, trains could only go as far as Hida-Furukawa Station until September 8, 2007, when the track was repaired and again reached all the way to Toyama Station.
The Takayama Main Line (高山本線 Takayama Honsen) is a Japanese railway line between Gifu Station in Gifu and Toyama Station in Toyama, operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) and West Japan Railway Company (JR West). The line directly links the Chūkyō Metropolitan Area (metropolitan Nagoya) and Hokuriku region in a shorter distance, but with a longer travel time, than by using the combination of the Tōkaidō Shinkansen and Hokuriku Main Line. Now the line primarily functions as a way to access the scenic areas of Hida (ancient Hida Province), in the rugged mountains of northern Gifu Prefecture, such as Gero onsen (hot spring), Takayama, Shirakawa-gō, and the Kiso River. The first section of the line, between Gifu and Kagamigahara, opened in 1920. The whole line was completed in 1934.

Wow.. Me and my wife travelled in this train in April 2019. Got down at Hida Furukawa. Enjoyed the yearly lively and lovely festival. The people were wonderful. Also pretty village. Then boarded again at Hida Furukawa for Toyama. Loved this train. Then enjoyed the snow-laden corridor.

It's one of the programs under JET (which is open to native English speakers from outside Japan), where you can be hired to record for various businesses (including bus and train networks) under a government contract. Although unlike the ALT side of JET, you need to be at least an N2 rating on the JLPT to qualify for that position.

I wish I knew a limited express was available. The one I rode stopped at every station and we had to wait 30 minutes for another train to pass. We took the Tokaido line from Hamamatsu and took the Takayama main line from Gifu. The whole trip took 11 hours. On the way back, we actually rode a bus to Nagoya and took the Tokaido line to Hamamatsu. The whole trip only took 8 hours. My back was killing me on the first trip and I’m never doing that again.

A smooth and speedy ride through plains and hilly regions. This cab view is a good one as the driver was out of our viewing area, and our ride was thus not disturbed by his gestures and physical presence and movements. They appear to be "can openers", structures that an over height vehicle would hit before the bridge. It took me a few tries to see, but it looks like there's another road lane under the big arms on the river side, and the arms on both sides are marked with the clearance height (3.8m on the hillside, 4.4 under the big arms).
