🚆 4K Beautiful morning ride on the "Airtrain" to the airport (Cab Ride IR36 Basel - Zurich Airport)
Welcome aboard the InterRegio 36, the so called "Airtrain!" This line is the only direct connection between Basel SBB and Zurich Airport and runs hourly in each direction. It also provides an important link to the many stops in between and here's where the "air" comes into play: This train has a Swiss Airlines flight number and Swiss Tickets from or to Basel are accepted on the train. There are no flights between Zurich and Basel, which is the reason for this partnership between Swiss and SBB. The same service also exists from/to Lugano and Zurich Airport. Obviously, not only flying passengers are welcome, most passengers travel on a standard ticket, not a boarding pass. It is a regular national InterRegio service and everyone with a valid ticket may use it.
It is a beautiful morning to fly low across the ground. No need for seat belts on the train, as always we are expecting a smooth ride and zero turbulence. Enjoy the trip!

Den Bahnhof beim Züricher Flughafen kenn ich; da war ich mal. War schon ne lange Zeit her. damals noch ohne Handy im LKW unterwegs..da mußte ne Telefonzelle her, um mit dem Boss zu telefonieren, um neue Ladung zu erhalten.. Also fuhren ich und mein Onkel zu einer "ganz besonderen Telefonzelle", um neue Ladung zu organisieren, denn die Firma, wo wir eigentlich laden sollten, hatte nix.. Naja..da hatten wir auch ne kleine "Sightseeing-Tour" gemacht.. Das werd ich niemals vergessen..

Thanks for the great video. At 07:23 there's something you don't see everyday in Switzerland, that kind of lines crossing each other without a switch. I've only seen them a couple of times. And thank you for the laughs when I thought I was drunk already by seeing beer on the screen XD I even went back to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Well done.

Hervorragende Umsetzung 👍 👌 Die SBB 🇨🇭 Re 460 mit Pininfarina 🇮🇹 sind Modelle, die der Uhrmacherkunst 🇨🇭 würdig und auch teuer sind! knapp 6 Millionen Euro. Erwähnung auch für die Einheitswagen des Typs IV, die von den Corail VTU-Wagen der SNCF abgeleitet sind. Leider nicht im ehrenwerten Zustand der SBB 🇨🇭 Voyageur Grüße Fred Lorient Bretagne Süd 🤗

Superb realization 👍 👌 The SBB 🇨🇭 Re 460 signed Pininfarina 🇮🇹 are models worthy of watchmaking 🇨🇭 and also expensive! nearly 6 million euros. Mention also for the unified wagons of type IV derived from the Corail VTU wagons of the SNCF. Unfortunately not in the honorable state of SBB 🇨🇭 Voyageur Greetings Fred Lorient Bretagne Süd 🤗

Great cab ride I really like cab rides in Switzerland like going through the alps is amazing and relaxing to watch are you a number of swiss train drivers based at Zurich ? I know that a lot of SBB German drivers are based at Zurich , Luzern , St Gallern ,Bern and Basel . The French SBB drivers are based at Geneva , lousanne on Lake Geneva and Nercital . The Italian SBB Drivers are mosliy based at Belinzona and Chassio .

Tolles Mitfahrerlebnis, vielen Dank für das Video bei schönstem Wetter! Frage: den "Schlenker" über Zürich HB (tief) nach Oerlikon gabs vor 15 Jahren noch nicht, oder? Weil ich dachte ab Dietikon, du musst doch irgendwann "links abbiegen" und kannst nicht über den HB fahren. Insgesamt bin ich immer wieder positiv überrascht, was ihr Schweizer so alles hinbekommt, was der Grosse Kanton nicht schafft.

Das ist korrekt, vor dem Bau der Durchmesserlinie führte diese Linie am Hauptbahnhof vorbei, es ging links in die "Hard" hoch nach Zürich Oerlikon. Heute wird diese Linie nur noch von Güter- und Dienstzügen befahren.

I suspect you might have cursed your alarm clock that morning for the early start. Still promoting your favourite line-side brewery, I see. After you had stopped at Zurich Airport, there was a double deck train came in on the adjacent platform. I noticed a DRAGON in the livery. I haven't noticed that before, can you enlighten me on its use?

Waking up early is simply part of the job. You get used to it and having the afternoon off is quite nice. I think you agree the brewery has a beautiful castle! The dragon (and other animals) is where the family compartment, including a playground, inside the train is located. Google for "SBB childrens playground", or similar, to see what it looks like. In the IC2000 trainsets it is in the control car at the front or rear of the train, on the Bombardier Twindexx that you saw it only exists in the "IC200" variant which also has a restaurant car.
