I'm dog owner but always have them on lead when approaching anglers, being an angler myself I've had more fall outs especially on Hornsea north beaches, also had all my gear pissed on a thousand times. What I bought was a icon sling for my tripod put my chopping board in it and my bits and bobs, it's a good piece of kit when you are following the tides up and down. Loved the video, hope to drop on you for a chat , I fish all that coast.

Its one reason why I don't Fish during the day at Hornsea. Its evening/night venue for me. I do prefer quite beaches myself, and yes if you see me pop over and say hi :)

I always keep my bait in a bucket with a lid on, and if i have a rig baited up hanging on the tripod i just warn the dog owners there,s hooks on there. If the dog takes it they have been warned.

Yes best way, at moment I use my bucket for water to wash hands and put fish in to recover, I need to get one of them collapsible buckets as I can't take 2 buckets as I have way too much gear at present!

Wow!! Dog owners blaming the dog? It's the owners who haven't been trained. I'm in the Midlands and we suffer the same especially on the cut. Dogs not under control trying to snaffle you bait or even worse, in your bag trying to get your butties. I alway back my arguement up by asking them if they want poochikins vets bill when it swallows a bait with a hook in it and the have to cut it open to remove the hook. Maybe it's time for dog owners to have a test and license? Trouble is you can't legislate against stupid. Tight lines man ;-) P.s. Man tin made me chuckle

Yes, the owners are the issue. Many times I've heard dog owners calling their dog and the dog responding on first call and returning to the owner Its how it should be... But as we all know sadly not all owners are responsible or the same... tight lines 🎣

Thanks Shane, yes you can hear them say the dog is untrained and it's their sons. The dogs is not the issue it's usually the owners. On the positive they did put it on a lead the dog after

Mate that could have been a lot worse, good job u didn't have any hooks laying about 🤦‍♂️ I once hooked a dog and it wasnt pleasant 🤦‍♂️😂 and had many piss on my tackle box, tripods etc, worth thing is most dog owners don't even apologise. Omg... I would have died if I hooked a dog. That's my worst nightmare, dogs are not the issue it's the owners who can't control them and like you said most of the owners are rude and nasty. If the dog is not trained or does not follow the first call, keep it on a leash. If a dog ever p1sses on my equipment I will deffo p1ss on the owner 😂 tight lines Hakan and let the cod season begin 😁

I went to hornsea today in the morning and came back around 10 pm almost fished for 10 hours Got 4 whitings and 2 small dabs

Was it the same place in the video? What bait did you use?

Works both ways mate, you can clearly see there's dogs and people about, I am a very keen angler and its not hard to just cover up your bait.

Yes I agree with you. However. its down to the owner especially if its out of control and does not respond to first call or 10 calls then it should be on a leash.

Got some expensive and good tackle there mate. Not to use when kite fishing😃. Bad there for dog owners matey best to fish there at night. Most dog owners keep dogs on a lead until they are past you. Shame they all don’t. Dogs and leads are a thing of the past. Get yourself in the Humber for a session mate. No blank, being rewarded with some fish well done makes the trip worth while. Thanks Vernon, I deffo won't use that equipment for kite fishing lol. I've not fished the Humber and it's on my list to do. I am thinking trying Paull . I am also looking for a mic for me gopro, I have the mic mod just need a lav mic now. Hopefully they will have sales on black Friday. We should meet up for a session sometime with the crew.

Bait getting eaten is not my issue with dog walkers lol the type I come across whilst fishing north wall Cleethorpes are bald bouncers looking thugs that threaten to you for actually fishing for a sport i.e putting fish back & he calls me cruel however I lost my shit n just so happens I was cutting squid with knife so didn't look good on my part lol tells me how would you like it if my dog bit you absolute fool, best part bout it fool has fish & chips on Friday n don't think his fish is line caught FFS

Yeah animal rights Extemists are another story, most of them are just lost and confused. Fishermen (rod and line) are the most sustainable fishermen and care for the environment. Most scientists use fishermen to gauge how the balance is on our waters and fishermen play a crucial role in monitoring pollution levels and stocks of fish. You are right thou, dogs are not the issue it's the owners who lack respect, etiquette and manners.
