Because the unit he had didn’t have it. This new battery from enjoy bot now comes with a real low temp cut off. Which over all Will said the battery was well built and for the price is something to consider. Now with low temp as well I think he would agree it’s a battery worth considering especially for the price.

If you took it apart and rewired the battery wires. But then you have a BMS that is probably not compatible and would need to replace it.

@@johnnysweekends Was considering a voltage up converter. Or combining three of these. Now considering modding a battery pack. One has more than enough capacity, just not the voltage, as is. If it works and is reliable, it's a many times better deal than any battery built for ebikes so far that I looked at; except some are extremely well built and I'm a noob. Would have to decide whether it's a better idea spending a lot more for less cap or waiting until I get through the extremely long process of getting it right the first time. There are frames that these can be mounted on. Mine can carry it on an added rack in the back or the trailer.

I live in Los Angeles and I’m looking to buy 3 of these to turn it into 36 volt for my trolling motor on a fishing 🎣 boat. I always charge my batteries inside the garage and I doubt it gets that cold here ever. Would you say I need the low temperature 🤒 cut off version or not in my case ? We don’t get ice 🧊 on our lakes and our inshore saltwater fishing 🎣 is also no where near freezing 🥶 temperatures. I would appreciate some knowledge to why or why not someone in my case would need it 🙏🙏🙏 I don’t want my boat to catch on fire 🔥 while I’m fishing 🎣 so that’s the only thing that scares me from buying this battery 🔋, but it would be a game changer in my case if it would not be a dangerous upgrade 🎣👍

If you live in an area such as Southern California, that rarely sees freezing temperatures then a low temp battery cut off may not be needed in your case. That feature is only for charging so you don’t damage the battery when trying to charge it when it’s too cold, but you can still use the power out of it until it’s depleted. You will need to buy a different type of charger that is able to charge lithium iron phosphate batteries.

I extremely appreciate you 👍👍👍🙏 I own a Noco Battery charger that I use to charge my lead acid and AGM batteries, but it also has the ability to charge lithium batteries as well, would my 10 amp per hour charger be good enough to charge these batteries? Or would you say I need to purchase a battery charger from the same company that is specifically made for their batteries? I extremely appreciate all the wisdom and knowledge, thank you 🙏🙏🙏

Sorry I know this an an older video at this point but I am curious...I live in Southern Missouri and it does get pretty cold here. Could I get away with the regular batteries (non low temp cutoff) but use a charger, such as the HRTC smart charger that I do believe has the low temp stuff on it?

You would want to double church and be sure that charger does. Or you will end up damaging that new battery pretty quickly. Maybe check temps before charging. Or keep in a area that’s not freezing

You say that low temp charging will destroy the battery. Can you do it and see what actually happens? I can't find a video of anybody doing this.

Two GC2 golf cart batteries have 225ah capacity for less than one of these lithium batteries. GC2 cost 175.00 each for 700 you could have 450ah. To get 450ah out of your lithium batteries is $2000. Hmmm

Well actually you can get a 300ah lithium battery for under $1000. And you get about 95% of that 300ah to use. And the battery can be cycled 3500 times roughly before it drops to 80% capacity. That’s about 10 years to get there. Your 6 volt batteries that need two to make the 12v set up and weigh double or more of the lithium battery, need maintenance for fluid levels and also only have a usable 50% capacity. So you actually only get 225ah of the 450. Unless you want to damage them and severely kill of the life cycles. Which most of the deep cycles have about 800 cycles till about 80% or less for a fluid battery. And if you drain the battery several times past 50% you’ll drop the life cycles even more say down to 500 ish. And even if you stay at the 50% drain they will be dead in about 4-6 years if your lucky since those are a cheaper batteries. And you also have fade so the more items you turn on the battery fades and can’t hold same output like a lithium which will stay at peak voltage up to 100amp draw. Unfortunately the lead acid will not hold the same. Plus lithium I can mount how ever for tons of options. Like on the ceiling if I want. Unfortunately lithium is now a better option. Especially since no maintenance.
