Hi Dan when changing water pumps always try to get them with alloy impellers not like that old one that was leaking which is steel as steel ones when under load Gravitate the water (Like what you get of prop on a speed boat where it whips up the water and air)That way cooling system works better.. We had an issue in UK and probably elsewhere with GM's as many replaced water pump for an after market/pattern one which was steel and engines overheated when pushed blowing Head gaskets and something i learn't about issues was from water pump!

Good job Dan, it is all in the planing. Metal fatigue and hood spring stays opening cycles over the years made springs fail. Replace them both hold the hood up with pallets and your carpet pads while changing to ease the spring tension. You might have to tie a rope to the spring to stretch it to the bolt mount and tie it off while threading the fasteners to keep from cross threading. Just make your plan and save some stress on yourself. My brother-in-law in KY has a family quarter horse gelding that is over 30 years old, keep what teeth they have floated and they also add beet pulp to his diet and make a mash and he is still going strong. Have to keep the secum active like in your region to prevent sand colic/impactions. It would be easy for them to drink 20 gallons of water a day out there in the heat. The other thing is he has buddy mini barren mares to have as herd companions for horse social stuff, he still protects them.

Looks like you ended up with the low restriction muffler of some type as most are not able to be looked through and see any light or ones I've looked at anyway compared to the particular Donaldson's I've used without the baffling ( has that funky bulged area in the pipe though so even they are not full diameter from end to end ) . Glad you took the steps you did with the shield as it turned out as intended. Oh those cables, it just about pays to have a spare cable and some clips with if using the truck a lot, good to inspect those cables every so often as quite often one will see a few strands broken and is a warning that its time to swap them out. The springs, yup have had one of those go boing too and just replaced them as a set rather then have the other one let go on me and sure noticed the springs were "helping" more then the old ones as they get weaker it seems over time.

Good work, the repair on the exhaust came out neat. About that power steering leak, if the joint is tight and still leaking take it apart to find out why. The bolt on that banjo fitting is hollow and if you over tighten the bolt it will will break off in the pump and ruin your day.

Did you check both sides for height? Wondering if the drives side is just a little taller now? Reason I ask this, we out on a new muffler years ago. Then a few days later was walking out of the truck stop. And could see the new side was taller than the old side.
