I love that you went to meet your sister instead of having to find their way. And, I loved to see your husband hug you and kiss you instead of being impatient. This was a great video showing the good and the awkward happenings of traveling in the unknown.

It's so nice that your family had you to be their tour guide. What a lovely trip. I love that your nephew wanted a baguette. The ones back home will never live up to that one in Paris. I feel extremely lucky to have been to Paris in the 90s, so I got to go inside Notre Dame. When the fire happened, it really reminded me that you can't take for granted these historic places will always be there. I'm glad they will be able to restore her. I loved my visit to Paris. Your video has brought back a lot of memories for me. I remember crying on the flight home because I wanted to stay there forever.

My husband and I are longtime fans of your channel and this may have been our favorite video yet. I am also Italian-American and got choked up when you met your sister and nephew at the airport. While traveling w a friend I once got on the wrong train in Italy. We thought we were headed to Venice. We weren't. My friend had come in from the US & had a Eurail Pass. I didn't qualify for a Eurail Pass so just had a regular ticket. Thank goodness for my regular ticket. The train we got on was headed to Yugoslavia. The conductor was really kind & he stopped the train, escorted us into a super tiny station which seemed to be in the middle of a field, & took my money to purchase a ticket for me. He took us to the other side of the tracks & got us onto the correct train. A few hours later than anticipated we finally arrived in Venice. I was so impressed with how well this man treated us & how he really took all of the panic out of our situation. I couldn't help but wonder about the passengers whose journey to Yugoslavia had been interrupted & stalled for quite a while.One thing I know is that this could never happen in the US. Not just because trains aren't really much of an option for travel but also because Schedules are engraved in stone. Can you even imagine?

Firstly, you and your sister are so cute together! And Luke is such a young gentleman. How nice for the four of you to experience Paris, if even for a short time, in such good company. I spent a week in Paris on a Rick Steves' tour in July of 2005, and I was able to see the major sites that you did. However, it was hotter than Hades! Paris is such a lovely city with something for everyone to enjoy!

Aw, really loving your Paris vlog! It’s been about 10 years since I’ve been and I miss it so. Versailles is also one of my favorite cities, I’ve stayed at the Trianon Palace which is on the grounds of Versailles and it’s such a treat to stay there and be able to walk the open fields with horses and sheep! What an adventure Beth, truly getting into the train station and finding the correct train is a hell out of task. We were in Paris at 2016 with two kids as it was our grand Uk and Europe trip so we had zillion bags and realised the train station is not lift friendly. We had so much pain to board and off the train between London and Paris.

Love the video, Beth! Your luggage on the train conundrum brought back memories of someone trying to steal my gigantic neon green suitcase from the other end of the train carriage! I immediately spotted my neon suitcase and shouted so loud at him that he dropped it straight away! I never liked the bright color but it was a great anti theft device!

This was adorable from start to finish. I am writing down all of your/your husband's restaurant recommendations for next time I'm in Paris! I lived there briefly while studying patisserie at Le Cordon Bleu but ironically, you are eating so much delicious food at the school, you don't have time (or stomach space) to try as many places as you'd like! Ha ha ha! Yes, those train mishaps were the cherry on top ha ha ha we are still laughing about it, but it all comes with the act of traveling! So glad you enjoyed the video!

If this video has taught me anything, it's that if anything goes wrong, sauvignon blanc is the answer! 🍷🤣 Traveling on trains with huge suitcases is always tough! I always try to triple-check my itineraries before I leave, and write down everything like the train number, departure time, destination, local or express, and platform number. If I really plan ahead, I will even look at the interior map of the station beforehand! I'm also the type of person who would walk to the platform/gate first thing after I arrive at a travel hub, even if it's right next to the entrance just to make sure it exists, before doing anything else like eating, shopping, or going to the bathroom!
