Goodbye Cusco, and hello Ollantaytambo! We are inching our way through the Sacred Valley to get closer and closer to the infamous Machu Picchu. We got to explore another collection of Incan ruins high up in the mountains, and then we got to join the local community for two sets of soccer matches on a Sunday afternoon. 🇵🇪

For those who are interested in the topic of polygonal masonry. A number of methods for obtaining the polygonal masonry are proposed. The basis of the proposed methods is the use of clay/gypsum replicas, a topography translator, and reduced clay models of the stone blocks along with a 3D-pantograph. The results are presented in the article: “Fabrication methods of the polygonal masonry of large tightly-fitted stone blocks with curved surface interfaces in megalithic structures of Peru”. Thank You Clare and Chad ! Your vlogs bring immense joy to this 89 year old handicapped woman who joins your delightful travels all the time. Both of you have such soothing voice and attractive smiles. The sceneries you pick are appropriate and beautiful. I am not a sandwich eater. I am glad that I do not have to eat them. I appreciate tremendously viewing your B and B arrangements and all the magnificent sites. Thanks again !

Great video you two! Loving the history snippets you provide throughout your journey! Also, what did packing medicine/vitamins look like for this long trip? Depending on how long you plan to travel I can only imagine how much space that must have taken! Did you have to leave out some nice to haves but non essentials? 🙌🏻😘🥰

It was certainly hard to pack! We will have to create an in depth video later on. I think the most difficult thing for both of us was bringing less clothes in general. We probably only have a fourth of what we had in the van.
I’m really enjoying your videos. They have been so helpful in planning our upcoming trip to Peru. I have 2 questions for you. 1st, did you Uber from Cusco to Ollantaytambo? 2nd, how did you find Air B&B’s to stay in?
Me gusto el video son divertidos.los veo desde Japón 🇯🇵👏
Hi Chad and Clare, thanks for all the great videos. I have always watched them and used info towards our trip planing. I am wondering if you still have the info of the hotel you stayed at Ollaytantambo, we are looking for a place to stay for our upcoming trip. Thanks very much.
Bless you guys getting hounded by the strays, they must do it all the time and if you give to one a bet another 20 strays would turn up, the dogs are professional beggars. Great video and very informative.

Hello! great videos! we're heading out to Peru, will be in Olly in Feb 2022 - which airbnb is this? Thanks!
The beef Skewer I bet it was actually Anticuchos... Cow Hearts.... They are so good.... I was there in June 2022 for the Inti Raymi Festival. Im dying to go back....
Hi guys @chadandclair! Thanks for the vid as I am here in Ollantaytambo :) the food spots are more costly than Pisac sadly & would like to know the name of the burger place that you loved so much, hope to hear from you!
what was this air bnb name?
the andean herb sauce is probably huacatay and oil. in english it is black mint.. is really good on french fries also.
Here is a nugget for you, that they will not tell you on the tour. The water channels in the hydraulic system, on the mountain top ruins, are all vitrified. The surface is a smooth as glass, and it is as water resistant as glass. An ordinary cut piece of stone, would have eroded to the point of disfunction by now, but as you have seen, it is all very much, up, running, and functional. The elder Peruvians, say this place was built, long before, the Inca ancestors saw this place, for the first time. Anyway, there is no evidence, that is conclusive, as to who had the ability, and when. I believe it at least, 5000 years old. That is another discussion though. I am glad you got see this place, and thank you for sharing your adventures, with us.
Great video, My wife and I are going there next month. Just wondering how much did your Uber or Taxi cost from Cusco to Ollantaytambo?
Hi guys I'm in ollantaytambo. And will love to eat at the place were you had dinner. Please share the name if you remember. Thank love the videos
maybe i just missed it. what is the name of the happy hours where you got the inexpensive (i won't use cheap) chicken sandwiches in town?
Thank you.How long did you stay here? And also it looks like its easy to walk every place you want to go. Yes?

Awww, those pups are actually harmless to humans, bec you’re the hand that’s feeding them, but they can be a little aggressive with other dogs! I was thinking, if you guys went there with $10-15K, you would be living like kings & queens with those cheap prices lol 😆

I am watching most of your Peru related ytube videos. They are so helpfull. It helpes me a lot on planning trip comming this Sept. I am wondering about the internet condition and public washroom availablility. If I can get reply that will be big help. Thanks. All the best to both of you!!
Hi @chadandclaire can you share the different ways to get to Ollantaytambo? I'm stuck with trying to figure out the best affordable + convenient way to get there from Cusco (because of my luggage & carryon)... I would like to take the Peru Rail or Inca Rail but there is no direct train from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. I don't see any big name charter buses going to Ollantaytambo, but I didn't know Peru has Uber. How much was your Uber from Cusco to Ollantaytambo? Please share, thanks
@ChadandClaire

Hey Kat! We did not find too many charter buses, from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. We decided to uber and i believe it was less than $100 USD. Not cheap, but for the distance and time it wasnt too bad. Plus we appreciate supporting a local whenever possible. Goodluck on your trip! :D

@@ChadandClaire thanks, great to hear from you!
Hi Chad and Claire, I watched your videos about Peru prior to my trip to Peru and used the information from it to schedule my route. I went to Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes, Cusco, Arequipa. I used the information about these 3 cities from your videos. I also watched your videos about other places in Peru (Titicaca, Puno) and thanks to your videos I decided not to go there. It was my decision. Thank you for creating these videos about Peru and other countries. It is valuable information. One minor comment: you might want to add the duration of the tours. For example, you went to see the Sacred Valley. How long did it take (2-3 hours or more)? The information about duration would help. Because I thought I need a whole day to visit a Sacred Valley but just half day was enough. However this is just a minor comment. Your videos are great anyways! :) Thank you very much!!!
Another great couple making travel look easy. It is very relaxing to watch and encouraged all people to travel.
Great video - Which airbnb is this?
Ollantaytambo está muy bien planificada.
i am researching my first overseas travel after COVID next may to Peru. it would be nice if you can post the name of the place you stayed and restaurants you have tried.

Coca leaves are part of the andean culture. It's a sacred plant. Never reject someone who gives you coca, you must always receive it and lend it with both hands. And, yes, it actually helps with "soroche" or altitude sickness because of the invigorating effect of cocaine. The alcaloid is just 0.8-1.5% of a leaf

Such an interesting video, thank you. As a historian I just wanted to mention that the Spanish destroyed the temples because they were used for human sacrifice. This has been left out of many newer history books, but the diaries of some of the conquistadors (parts of which you may find online) report this and it has long been acknowledged.

The Inca didn't actually carry out many sacrifices and they usually did them in mountains which were gods to them
I hate the mask! But Lovvo le costruzioni megalitiche 😊
That's not an airbnb, that's just a normal hotel
KNOWLEDGE: Active ingredient in coca leaves is cocaine, but is no relative to ilegal cocaine dust that requiere many kilograms or tons of coca leaves and others poisoning substances to get that. Dear followers a few leaves are legal here, not demonized the coca leaves and spread ignorance, knowledge is important to communicate and increase wisdom.
Good video, but don’t look down on the ‘tourists’ coming in buses, it is a greener way to travel than you guys, in your car! And other folk might not be so privileged as yourselves, and have little option if they desire (like you) to visit these special sites.
Yup! Cocoa leaves are the main ingredient to making cocaine.
Its funny you just walk pass the polygonal walls and speak about idols like its nothing special compered to The rest of the site. Looks alot different than everything else
You look like teenagers, are you already married?
Ugh, you eat Chickfilet? Horrible horrible treatment of their gay and lesbian employee's
