48 Hours on Peru's Lake Titicaca: Our Homestay Experience 🇵🇪

Upon our arrival in Puno, Peru, we hopped on a boat and began exploring the highest lake in all of South America- Peru's Lake Titicaca. We got the opportunity to visit three different islands on Lake Titicaca (the human-made floating islands of the Uros people, Amantani Island, and Taquile Island), and we quickly realized that the local Peruvian communities residing on the lake were living highly sustainable lives. They were all experts on living off of the land and using natural resources to live happy and healthy lives. It was an absolute pleasure to spend 48 hours with these incredible Peruvian people- our time on Peru's Lake Titicaca will forever be a memory we hold dear. 🇵🇪

Thank you both for this priceless vlog. It is a valuable anthropological lesson. I enjoyed every moment viewing it. The natives have such admirable lifestyles, never waste one second, “ even work while walking.” Their cleaning agent is completely biodegradable! Their healthy teeth are cleaned with natural twigs. How I wish we can grow these plants in this part of the planet ! Safe and peaceful without any police ! No divorce ! I hope no domestic violence too ? Old people above 80s are still actively dancing in that high altitudes ! Do they have hospitals and schools ? Incredible ! I admire their ingenious floating island ! Their colorful costumes are amazingly attractive. The whole vlogs is delightful . Thank you Both ! From an 89 old Chines 老婆婆。 No divorce !

Hey!! Thanks for reaching out! So we booked all of our bus tickets through a company called "Peru Hop." It is more expensive than other options, but because we are just getting into the swing of planning international trips we decided to use their service. In addition, to their bus tickets, you can book additional tours with their partners. That is how we did this excursion. They do a very good job and we have felt very safe using their service. We plan on giving more travel tips in the future! Keep asking questions! We love answering them. Let us know if there's anything we can clarify.

The Reed people of the Tigris and Euphrates, live very similar lives. They are the descendants of the Sumerians. They are happier than the people, who are living in the desert, on either side of the Great Rivers. The Aras people, who adapted to living on Lake Titicaca, have similar Lives. Much happier and simple pleasures.

Hi Chad/Claire. Firstly, want to say I so enjoy watching all your travel vids. You guys are so adorable together. I have a quick question regarding Peru Hop and your stays in each destination. How far in advance did you book with Peru Hop? And the stays/excursions? Were they also booked through Peru Hop affiliation site as well? Do these excursions need to be booked prior to securing Peru Hop transportation or you booked everything around the same time when you got to Cusco? Just want an idea as I will be going to Peru in a couple of weeks and want to do the same Peru Hop itinerary once we are done with Machu Picchu. Thanks in advance for any insights.
