Prepare to embark on an artistic journey as I unveil the exciting launch of my new SheleeArt Blooms series! 🌸🎨✨ In this episode, I’ll be working with a mesmerizing color palette featuring the enchanting hues of Golden Fluid Acrylics Cobalt Blue, Teal, and Titanium White, complemented by the rich tones of Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics in Payne’s Gray.
This captivating video is the second of an exhilarating four-part series. Trust me; the creative process wasn’t all smooth sailing-this particular painting met with a mishap that rendered it destroyed. Man was I bummed out about that! THE RECIPE:
House Paint-base aka puddle for the substrate: Glidden Essentials in Eggshell (Home Depot) I ran out of PPG Multi-Pro in Satin, which is my favorite. Also at Home Depot.
Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe: mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:
Behr 8300 Untinted Deep Base Paint (Home Depot); and Valspar High Gloss Ultra Base C Untinted base (Lowe's). 50/50. Mix well. NO varnish added!
Use the colors of your choice! These tutorials are meant to educate and inspire! Here's how to mix:
Pigments: For a 3 oz cup I add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of pigment powder to the cup, then add enough gloss varnish (any brand; I use JoSonja gloss varnish) to cover the powder. Mix well until all pigment is thoroughly wet; then add the pouring medium.
Golden, Atelier, and Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics: I put about 2-2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well.
For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick I add a squirt of Golden's High Flow Medium (thins and extends acrylic colors) and stir well. All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it (stir really well), then add into a 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.
Cell Activator/Color: Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam Deep Gold. 3:1 Floetrol to paint.

Hey Karen I'm sorry that happened because that was beautiful. It's been awhile since I've been to your Channel do too many reasons no AC for over 2 weeks too hot to paint too hot to do anything and I do want to say you and Jessica winter storms art, you guys are so much alike I enjoyed watching both of you. like I told you in the past , you don't come in all fancy pants , you come on as yourself, you don't worry about wearing makeup and you're just naturally human and silly and humorous , and I enjoy watching you as much as I enjoy and love your art. Stunning and so so pretty. Love the gold CA with the white. The crispness and composition is breathtaking and organically simply lovely! Know the final result hurt your heart 💙 but the next pour may blow your mind and make you happy. The color scheme is a top favorite for softness.

This is truly gorgeous, the gold lacing is stunning! Teals/turquoises are my favourite. Awww so sorry to hear that you had the accident with the paint tube - I think we've all been there in some way, where we absolutely love the results of a painting and then something happens to it. I just lost 2 that I was really pleased with because someone in my family moved them and put them down face-to-face (they were at least 3wks dry at this point so I can see why they thought it would be fine) and they have stuck together. 😢 Got a few suggestions to try and separate them without destroying them, from one of the acrylic pouring groups on Facebook, but haven't had the courage to try them yet. Keep at it though, I bet the next one will be even better!

Honestly, Karen, if you haven't considered prints before, I wonder if you have a good enough still frame of this piece to make one! It doesn't have to be a total loss! It was absolutely gorgeous. We've all been there! The worst ones are the hairs, or thumb prints on the side you don't notice until you go to varnish weeks later. I really hope you are able to do something with the footage! I love the color combo and can't wait to see the next video!
