I love this as a woman. I remember as a child my wee gran putting a drop on my temples to cure a headache. It always worked hehe. The wipes are also very refreshing on a hot balmy day.

in germany it was always more like a unisex/womens scent Only the new time showed again how versatile 4711 really is

It’s a nice pleasant scent. Used it on the plane. Thai airways used to have a bottle in the lavatory.

Very good review, In our family we use 4711 in many ways and for almoust 200 years, as a frangance and more. Nobody I know is allergic to 4711, a disinfectant, It's anti bacterial and antiviral. English is not my native tongue. I apoligize for my bad English.

Goodness - it’s still around! I remember this from the days when my late grandfather used it. That was 40+ years ago now (which means I am well in the target demographic for this product now! 🤣)... And now I know the history of it too 👍🏽

Love this video, this 4711 is so comforting for me❤my grandma and great grandma both wore this and used it on hot summer days to cool off. Have 4 versions now (orange,yellow,purple and original) but the original one always will be in my heart ❤ (it also works great to put on your temples when you have a headache) 🌹

Great review loved the history of this. Purchased this about a year ago very nice product, excellent channel just subbed you.

Trusted your opinion with Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream (took some time to get here in Michigan) and could not be happier with it. Was looking for a light after shave and went with 4711 after watching this... you are 2 for 2 as far as I'm concerned. Thanks Ash.

Have you tried Al Haramain - Portfolio Neroli Canvas? It’s like an edp version of 4711. Incredible quality and lasts all day! I found it a week ago and I’m obsessed with it. Always loved the original Eau de cologne.

Always used by my late mum in summertime, especially when we went on day trips. So refreshing. I’m now peri menopause and I use the 4711 tissues when having a tropical moment! x

worth buying. just for the bottle

Yeah, great design.

Love this, but as you mentioned, it is quite free flowing. I buy it in the larger bottles and put into a vintage style atomizer to spritz on me to avoid accidental spills/large pours.

Another fine review and has me thinking this might be good for me at work. Wearing my uniform can, shall we say become a little hot and moist. This splashed on my neck will by the sounds of it make me feel a little fresher and help me through the second half of my shift. I'll let you know how I get on. I have used Blenhime but it's a tad expensive for work so this sounds ideal. Thanks again Ash for another excellent review and video.

A great tip for the ultimate chap on a brutally hot day, is to keep your 4711 in the fridge before splashing it all over. its remarkably bracing and really works a treat.

Another favorite of mine, although I only use their aftershave. Quite refreshing!

i enjoy your approach and style.. Great review. 4711 does come in atomiser at some sizes. Just subscribed, will check out your vids. Good work sir.

I’m a female and use this more then my husband 😂 it is great during warm days, and in the evening it helps me sleep, I find it so relaxing. It is very soothing. I get a lot of neroli along with the citrus. I think as a younger person if you are into perfume history, this is a gem. I actually heard Clemence CC talking about its quality and she’s around 30 (and a fragrance expert). We have a couple of the other 4711 colognes, did you try any of them? Really enjoyed this video, thank you😊❤

very nice, 4711 perfume that I bought when I visited Germany in 2014 was still at home in Indonesia.

Just got my first bottle. Nice fresh clean refreshing smell, nothing spectacular but nice. If I had to describe it, it be a bar of Ivory Soap with lemon juice. Also, occasionally it reminds me of Coppertone tanning lotion. I know, those two descriptions are totally different, weird. But mostly the Ivorysoap/lemon.

Nice review, decided to give it a try and bought a small bottle (50ml), i see what you mean, fairly understated but nice fragrance, nice to wear when lounging about or visiting friends...

Its such a classic - will always be one of my favourites.

I bought a small bottle on a blind buy. I love it, but I like citrus scents as well. Definitely a Colonge concentrate. When I wear it, I have a small 2ml decant in my pocket to reapply. Thank you for the sanitizer fun fact. I did not know that. Love your channel, by the way. You have helped introduce me to some great scents.

I absolutley love this stuff. I love splashing it on after a shower, after shaving as an aftershave, before bed or during a long day of work for that extra energy-boost. It's such a bright and envigorating scent that will never offend anyone; you can never really overapply. It really does boost my mood. The best part: its cheap but doesn't smell cheap! It will always be in my collection and I'll always have a bottle in the bathroom for quests. I recommend getting the splash bottle, not the spray bottle. As it is EDC so its pretty weak, so when its sprayed it seems to only dissipate faster.

The smell fades away in 25mins but I kept mine because the smell really relaxes my mind. That’s why I didn’t send it back for a refund.

Wonderful, as usual. My first memory of this is when, as a child, we moved back to Swansea from Treorchy. When I started at the local infants school, my new teacher Mrs Florence had just come back from Cologne..... guess what she brought for us to smell? Yes, I have a bottle in the bathroom cabinet today. A lovely freshener. Thank you Ash.

its 30+ degrees today and Ive popped my bottle of 4711 in the fridge to cool down for later after a shower - now that really is living the chap life!

I wore this fragrance on my last holiday to Argostoli (Greece) 6 years ago ..... the fragrance was just perfect for that boiling dry-desert weather of Greece .............. and I was surprised but the cologne lasted on my skin 4 hours plus, obviously not in a strong way, a very skin scent but I could smell it, so other people around me, I think 4711 Cologne is a fragrance just for that type of weather, dry like the Sahara desert and hot like an oven ............... very refreshing and with that soft touch that keeps you just right in the summer days.

It is THE COLOGNE, invented in cologne over 250 years ago.... and the Cologne company survived many owners now they ARE M & W (owner of themselves), Cologne and the recipe is still secret and you can buy it just now....

Do they make a room atomizer or candle?

Have you researched Napoleon’s use of this fragrance? Interesting story.

Are you sure that Johann Maria Farina ( Italian immigrant), who originally created his eau de cologne in 1709, managed to create the later classic 4711 eau de cologne in the 1790s? Get your facts straight.
