460 Rancher falling a couple limb tied Spruce
Some frozen Sitka spruce, cutting with a Husky 460 Rancher after having a couple saws break down. It’s no powerhouse but it’s a good reliable saw.

That last spruce that was limb tied, and you were banging wedges, and the top moved, but you could tell it was limb tied good - I'm glad you didn't start thinning your hinge more, and just dropped the little cedar. I did that once, and when I was banging, thinned the hinge too much and the hinge popped, and the tree went backwards into the the tree it was hung up in. Too much lift from the wedges for a thin hinge. Kinda scared me when it went pop. Then, the fun of pulling it out ...

Yep for sure. It’s a pretty thick crown in here, always dealing with limb bound trees. I try to save cutting more trees than I have to but doesn’t always happen. The spruce limbs really hang on too.

Have you had any trouble out of them rancher saws? I've got stihls and have had problems with both of them

Never a single issue. I’ve had a 455 for 10 years and the 460 for 5 or 6. Both are great running saws
