Its only a quick overview, but worth looking into if you need something like this. I made the box myself!

Yes ideally you'd need a long cutter and large router. I basically use the smaller router and cutter to make a shallow recess then finish the full mortice with a Auger bit, it saves time on the marking and setting out. Cheers

Good vid Pal...what do you do for routing the door jambs? I take it the trend jig does not do door standards?

Do trend do a template for the common tubular latch and face plate ? I’ve been doing these for years with a 23mm spade bit, but as you know the hole for the tubular latches aren’t round

unsure I've had this many years, I'll usually cut in by hand as its not worth setting up for just one lock. Though I'm guessing there are plenty of different jigs available now.

How often do you find that you don't have the correct faceplate for a particular brand of lock? Thank you

They do cover a good portion, if you don't have the absolute correct one, just find the size smaller than you need, and just finish with a chisel!

What are the small metal strips for on the underside of the jig?

Hi, these are spacers, they are used to hold the jig off the face of the door so the guide bush doesn't scrape on it as you router.
