Awesome video! I like that bush hog, looks built to last and to take a beating... a lot of them these days seem really flimsey.

Years ago I tried sharpening/ beveling the first 6” of the blade. Like 30 degrees? down to where the edge was a 1/4” thick. Then with oxy acetylene I welded some hard surfacing rod on that edge. That hard surface lasted for years. It cut really great and would cut like 1” or 1 1/4” saplings easily. Yes it takes at least a half day but folks it’s worth it to me.

I keep a little makita 18v blower behind the seat it's small but a good idea to have 2 batteries they don't last long. Nice video 👍

I have an RK 55 and have been considering doing some brush hogging on the side. Is there much demand and do you charge hourly or by the job?

How are you liking the RK? Have you had any issues or annoyances with it? I'm getting ready to upgrade. I currently have a Kubota.

It's been good to me and I'm not exactly easy on it. Just here and there small things like every equipment like a leaky quick connection.

How to do like the cab ac keep it cool or does it struggle keeping it heated and cooled how much sound does it kill

Only starts to struggle in direct sunlight and triple digit temperatures. But even then it's still nice compared to the temperature outside and hardly notice it. Heat is never an issue and will be in a t shirt clearing snow from driveways all day long. Cab has been nice still quiet and has not deloped any creaks or rattles.

Doesn't matter whether you're running some animals or renting pasture to the deer it's nice to get in and selectively clear out all the small stuff. I'm no fan of mowing though so I probably averaged out to once a year.

Just depends on application. I finish mow with mine and also in customer yards alot. R1s would wreck yards. The r4s still have traction and will push large brush/tree piles across a muddy field.

Nice set up but I get so tired of setting all those adjustments in a 3 point. I really like my ASV and the diamond mower bushhog set up. I think u might like that set up too. But like on the other video I see u have a long road to travel and skid steers not good on a road way to slow. Great video buddy and thanks for sharing all ur work and set ups.

Skid loader would most certainly be awesome for this particular task. But I also finish mow my yard with this tractor/ hay/ travel down the road/ etc that skid/ track loader just can't do well. Have access to cat 289 wide track for the wet spots occasionally. Wish I could afford all of the toys 😁

@@SwiftOutdoors I get u there. I have looked into a finish mower by bobcat and I like the looks of it have not tested one out though. But understand all that. I have a diamond disk mulcher and I love it u wouldn't need to have the grapel if u came up to a laying down tree u could just mulch it up right there and it will usually duck it in and much it up. Like u said if we could afford all the toys we be having fun all the time. Thanks again and I liked the old iron, allison,

Wow that sounds nice. I'm not sure what u payed for that tractor but I payed 100,000.00for the skid and 22,000.00 for the diamond mulcher. Every thing is going up and it's getting harder and harder too afford anything in this world.

I just cut when it’s wet or heavy dew and have no radiator clogging and it’s much easier on the engine and trans temps. Also you would do much better double cutting it 1/2 height now then comeback in a couple days to cut it really low

I agree with that. I'm just restricted on time or the area I'm working on has to be completely dry to do because of the soft ground. But most of the area I bush hog I'm able to do on my rain days but can't film since water gets on lens or drone would get ruined.
