My passion for the banjo was cultivated over a decade, and I've had the privilege of attending countless old time and bluegrass jam sessions, festivals, and music lessons, immersing myself in the time-honored tradition of roots music. Every strum and pluck is a nod to the giants who came before - from the intricate styles of Tommy Jarrell, Dock Boggs, Charlie Poole, and Roscoe Holcomb to the groundbreaking sounds of Doc Watson, Elizabeth Cotton, Lead Belly, and modern day players such as Bruce Molsky.
Experience a unique fusion of the familiar and the unknown. While our feet tap to the rhythms of our planet's musical past, let our souls soar through the galaxies. Dive into 'Galactic Banjo Ambience' - where the age-old sounds of Earth meet the infinite universe.
If you enjoy the musical journey, please like, share, and subscribe. Your support means the universe to me.

Day 142 in the dark reaches of this astroid belt and the Galactic Federation alliance is making us stay another four cycles digging the graphite.... They did raise our units from 32 to 75.4 so thats a plus for all the overtime...... Ravagers stole one of the com-links last evening and has been attacking the cruisers as the leave with freight so we had to mount sonic plasma blasters on them from the Colonial Union Defence Federation on them........i tell you brother i miss it back in New Appalachia.
Space westerns need to come back. I need me some more Cowboy Bebop, Firefly, and Outlaw Star.

ok so, have you heard of the album "High noon over Camelot"?
The funny thing is that the banjo playing in this is super authentic pre bluegrass Appalachian style banjo. I love it. Awesome rendition of John Henry.

I started out playing Earl Scruggs 3 finger style and had a ton of fun with it till I really understood Old Time as a genre. It's not obvious if you're unfamiliar with it. Dock Boggs, Frank Proffitt, Tommy Jarrell, Roscoe Holcomb, Stanley Hicks, and Fred Cockerham (to name a few), changed the way I play and even think about music. Most of these musicians carry a unique quality that can't be imitated or copied. You pretty much have to be born in that time with their culture to sound like that. - Thanks for the thoughtful comment!

You know…… you may make us banjo players respectable with this!
No matter how thin the atmosphere, we can still make it wiggle by plucking some strings. Though playing through the suitgloves is an acquired talent. We made our robot hum to itself for it's birthday, it may have only been once, but it happened. We should always bring music with us.
This music makes me feel like an intergalactic Old Man McGugkit is smiling down on me. It's peaceful, AND twangy. 🤠

Galactic Banjo? Makes perfect sense.
I been out here awhile. Its quiet. Not like back home quiet. Back home the wind whispered through the leaves on the trees, and the wheat in the fields. Here...there aint nothin. Somethin' bout the atmosphere...i dunno. Im keepin' focused most the time, but the quiet gets to me and i dream of home. I see the amber waves and the farmers harvestin. I feel the cool breeze and i feel the warm sun melt over me like butter on mammas pancakes. God i miss you mama. Only a few more rotations and we can go out again like we used to before daddy passed. Like a family.

Probably somebody who saw the box art of the snes game phalanx lol. It's what I immediately thought of when I saw the video. Its one of the most bizarre box arts of all time. It shows an old guy with a banjo sitting outside in a rocking chair under the night sky with a spaceship flying by. The guy with the banjo has absolutely nothing to do with the game, it's just a regular side scrolling space ship shooter.

As someone who has been thinking about it for a while and got another boost of inpiration from you videos (thank you) with what kind of Banjo is this created? Open or closed back? I am totally inexperienced with instruments and I get many would tell me to elarnt he guitar first. But I know myself and know that it is best to just go all in with something I really want. So which should I go for to come closest to this sound? :)

I've been recording these videos with a closed back banjo, without the finger picks. I also play open back too. If you know banjo is right for you, go straight to it! Banjo creates a feeling no other instrument can imitate.
