Just let me know there hickok if ya start getting pressed for room in your gun safe, because I have a little more room in mine, and I'll gladly store it for you free of charge for the next 50 years or so, it would look real fine, and fit right in hanging right next to my 629-5 mountain gun that's all nice and shinny just like that one, so you just let me know I'd be glad to help you out now. It’s the delay of the sound bouncing back. Sound travels much slower than the bullet and it takes time for the sound to travel back to the mic on the camera. Speed of a “slow” bullet is about 1200mph up to 4000mph. Speed of sound is around 770mph in average temp If you were down range and Hikok shot you in the head, you would not hear it as the bullet would hit you and you would be dead before the sound of the gun firing reached your ear. Cool effect though.

Hi Hickok, I love your program...keep up the great work!! ...On the issue of hitting high when you go for the gong...I notice it's uphill just a tad....I'm sure you must be aware that when you are shooting other than level (up or down) gravity has a different effect on the bullet trajectory....hence to the extent that you are out of level...(up or down - it does not matter which) the point of impact will rise....in direct proportion to the degree to which you are out of plumb...

I bought a 629 Talo Special because of Hickok45. It is the same as his, but a different grip and that stupid lock. It is my carry gun and since I got it fixed (twice) because of that stupid lock, it shoots mint.

Hey, you got a mention on page 8 of April's "American Rifleman"! "Recently, a prominent and respected KZread personality had problems with the new Python. He shot the gun extensively, praising it highly for about half an hour, until he had issues with cylinder rotation."

Well, I don't live for "mentions," but it's good they acknowledged the issue without trying to blame my lack of revolver experience. :-) Maybe we'll "mention" "American Rifleman" sometime. :-)

thnx Sir Hikock for sharing this video, nice gun. I wish I would have never gotten rid of my Ruger .357 magnum just like that short barrel. it was a nice gun, it always shot well & they don't make 'em that quality no more. I bought it about 15 years ago. I miss that gun.

When I saw the title I was already trying to get to the video. I just bought a 629 two months ago. I had to check to be sure....its a no-dash, p &r, no lock, (made too early for the lock). So far I've only shot lead swc loads. Big pistols are fun to shoot!

Some years ago, during the 22LR madness I decided to simply my calibers down to 9mm, 12ga, 556 of course and I also kept my Win94 in 30-30; all else got traded off. Sadly, that also meant trading off all my revolvers. I miss owning a magnum, whether 44mag or 357mag even, especially in a wheel gun. This video and others like it ain't helping. :-) -Ed on the Ridge

@@karstensebastian7598 Following Sandy Hook and other shootings during Obama's tenure, Obama made speeches following each one about taking measures to prevent shootings in the future. So of course, guns flew off the shelves but there was a heightened sense of worry for gun enthusiasts and also preppers so the cheapest ammo to buy was never available because people were clearing out shelves of .22lr immediately when stores got their resupply. Similar to the toilet paper deal currently taking place.

Well mr. Hickok I sure do thank you for your videos I really enjoy them. I really enjoy watching you with the 44 Magnum in the 29 series. I need to load me some 44 special rounds but I would like to have a smaller 44 to carry instead of my 38 airweight. But right now I am not financially able because I am living off Social Security. Getting old ain't for sissies! I load my own rounds most of the time and I had a pet load for each of my 2 Model 29s. I used hog guns h4227 in one and h110 in the other. I would normally carry both with me hunting and if I saw a deer I would quickly decide which gun I needed to use. But I don't have a short barrel so that I can carry it concealed, all I have are two Model 29s one is a - 2 and the other a- 6 I believe. The great thing about the 44 Magnum is that you can kill a car if the shtf. I'm a big fan of Smith & Wesson. I love Colts too but they are too proud of them for me to own one. And I also don't like the cylinder release on a colt, you have to pull the little knob back and if your hands aren't real great at sometimes can get to be a problem but the Smith has a large push release. I don't really want to hear I have killed with my oldest Smith or for that matter the newest one either but they have been several I put on the ground. I have made one shot in my lifetime that was 127 yards. It might have just been love but either way it help to feed Me Through the winter. I have made several that was between 70 and 90 yards and a lot of them at below 50. I just really get excited everytime you bring out and S&W 44 Magnum. now I'm not trying to get ugly here, but I had a black friend of mine back oh I guess in the 80s and I show him a Model 29 with an 8 3/8 inch barrel like the two I have now and he said man that's scary as hell even though it's not shiny. I told him man that's about a shiny you can get it because it had a slick nice Bluing on it and he told me that black folks were more scared of shiny guns like either stainless steel or nickel plated. I don't know what that had to do with the price of tea in China but he said that's the way it was. oh well to each his own thanks for the video bless you and I hope you and your stay well!
