    Yes mate, same here. Any revs over 4k would have the clutch shuddering at the drags. Actually, even with a Brock's Utra Lite centre hub that bike still shuddered badly until I found the problem which was a wore out clutch basket at the shock springs backing plate.

    Thanks mate. As you know, the busa's are a great platform to modify. One thing that helped alot for both the track and country back roads, was sorting out the suspension with springs and valves. The country roads we have here are fast but in places rough and properly working suspension really helped with the control and comfort at speed even though from the outside the forks and rear shock look standard. But it does need new paint from all the stone chips....

  • @KJmotoplus

    @KJmotoplus

    Жыл бұрын

    @@BT_life2 I don't know where you live but in Perth we do have a road racing circuit so there are mechanical workshops who can do this work. The trick is who. The gen1 is limited in aftermarket valves but RaceTech do make them and a local dyno and suspension shop in my city knew what to do, actually, he is very good. Getting the correct front springs was the first thing for me because the standard springs are to soft. Can you go to your local race track and ask some racers? We have two mechanics here that have done work for me and they are awesome. You could also just ring a national distributor because they have trained and authorised workshops around the country ( I did that first ).

    Thank you! That Titanium Yoshi muffler on my silver busa was originally on my GSXR . It had some slight damage so I cut / trimmed it approx 2inchs to get rid of the damage. And it made the bike look a bit better too I thought by not hanging past the rear wheel. I tried a small hi-low projector headlight which totally repaleced the standard headlight assembly to save some weight as the stock unit is so heavy. But it wasn't very legal. So for the time being the stock headlight is back in. The weight is from that darn hi beam as it's solid glass for the projector. I was thinking of an LED bulb for the low beam and a small LED assembly for a high beam.

You won’t be disappointed with the 1441cc conversion, I’m running it and it makes the Busa an absolute weapon on the road and motorway!! Hi, the biggest problem with the gen1 is the Master Cylinder. On that silver gen1 of mine I have the Brembo 19RCS Brake Master Cylinder kit. The lowered gen1 I have has the Nissin 19mm radial master cylinder. The Brembo is better. You can buy brand new 108mm (mounting pitch) calipers from Webike Japan. Look up Nissin Advantage Brake calipers in their website....or, get in touch with MHP UK. mhproducts.co.uk for their caliper adapters and calipers. I'm sure they can steer you right. I found out that my brakes have leaks so they can't build up any pressure. The Nissin brakes are a little too expensive for me so i might try to get the same GSXR Brakes you have. Or do you have another solution?? Thanks again!

  • @KJmotoplus

    @KJmotoplus

    Жыл бұрын

    @@seraneramphal1790 First, if you have a leak the fluid level in the reservior will drop and you will see the fluid on the ground. I don't think you have a caliper leaking problem. It's either air in the system or the master cylinder (at the handle bar) needs an overhaul kit. Or both. Do you have a Suzuki shop nearby? The overhaul kit for the gen1 is available to buy from Suzuki. It's not much money.

    Hi you can try a little thicker oil in the stock steering damper it will be a little stiff when standing still, you will enjoy that piston kit I went with 84 mm which yields 1397 cc you should port and polish the head 395/378 cams are a good all around cams with heavy duty springs and stock retainers

  • @KJmotoplus

    @KJmotoplus

    3 ай бұрын

    Thanks mate for the info, especially about the cams that you found worked well. I have two gen1 busa's with three cam options, (so far). The silver gen1 has stock cams and on a dyno peak power was at 9400rpm and then falls away. So they have to go....The second gen1, the black one, had the two inlet cams mod done and it's power was up 4 whp but the power didn't significantly drop off to the rev limit of 10800rpm which was really good but... as a camshaft company explained to me on the phone, that swap is only just ok because not all of the cam lobes ride (sit ) central on top of the valves. Being slightly off centre prevents the cam from spinning when reved.....so, I've removed them and bought a pair of gen2 cams instead. But not fitted yet and thus, I'll need to get another set of something else. So your tip of cam choice is greatly appreciated!

    Hi Brian, I was dreading someone would ask that! The top triple clamp was one of the first things I bought, years ago. I tried to buy another set years later and couldn't find them at all. The name was PitTech and I got it through Ebay but now it's disappeared. It's been excellent because it saved weight BUT the only problem is, because of the larger holes for the fork legs to slide up through has moved the position of the bars slightly forward. Only slightly but enough to cause clearance problems withe the Brembo master cylinder. For my other gen1 busa looking for another straight top clamp with the normal road racing style clip-on handle bars. Changing handle bars and top clamp is a mission.

    Great info! I bet the Gen3 owners are wondering if they should change their cams too. Seems the Gen3 is a little like the Gen1 in the way the power is all finished at 10,000 while the engine can rev out to 11,000 (or a bit higher) Which means there is more power to be made with some better top end cams . But anyway, thanks :)

    Originally the Gen 1 had an exhaust cam that was identical to the intake ....... that put the bike at near 200 hp ...... after 99 it was "detuned" with a milder cam ..........

    My lowered gen1 with the carbon fibre tail piece (in the video) has the two inlet cam mod done with APE adjustabe cam gear. My ecu's are flashed and dyno tuned, all factory restrictions removed, top speed, ignition maps in the gears, (just as a 99).

    Hi, I'm not sure at what point in the videos are you referring to but, Ive had a very noisy Bosch fuel pump in there and I replaced it before it failed. The fuel pump is a submersible type so it can't be dry but blocked filters can make them sound loud. Dirty fuel, mainly contaminated with water has done damage in the past but all good right now.

    I’d like to get some help with my busa.when I bought it she was setup for quarter mile drags.I ride her around now off drag strip but when I hit 3800-4500 rpm and just cruise she feels like she’s sluggish. I’ve put a light everything new I can think of on her any ideas

    I just asked the truck & bus diesel mechanic at work. Straight up he said, turbo is too big (for street use). I think it would be well worth the time to find out exactly what you have in regards to what turbo you have and go from there. Good luck.

    Hi, this silver gen1 busa is down about 10hp to a pretty much standard gen2 but is lighter in weight. At the local drag strip, when it was lowered, it's best was a 9.66

    I did the airbox mod with heatshield wrap on whole intake. Also racetech gold valves f/r & Gen2 rear shock, as it's 10mm longer. I like the pirelli's better than battleax, for my riding. Looks like you've got some cold tearing on the rear. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iGSnsrWzfc7Qd5c.html

    Thanks for the info mate, very interesting. Yes, I've found the RaceTech gold valves to be excellent. Interesting about the gen2 shock. The Soupy's rear links in this silver busa are -25 / 0 / +25mm So far the bike is raised 20mm at the rear. I'll step up to a Pirelli Supercorsa for the next set of tyres. Just haven't decided on which ones yet.

    I didn't tallying the parts but can I say this, some thing's are a must do for me. I have the Yoshi full system on the silver gen1, a Brock's Alien Head on the black gen1 and now a full M4 system for the gsxr1000k6. The M4 system is worth a look as it's quality and at a very good price. A dyno tune is then a must using say the Woolich software for changing fuel, ignition, removal of restrictions on the dyno to get any benefits from the new exhaust. The Brembo RCS19 at just under $500 made a big difference. The rest can be just preference for the type of riding you do but in the case of my silver gen1, the suspension was shit and about $1000 it now rides just great. Hope that helps mate.
