Watched the whole nearly hour long vid. Good to see these guest speakers with different perspectives. I do agree it's like talking to the wall and can get very jarring when you try to convince the world how to be a disciplined long-term investor and you'll never hear the end of it on social media, for example, when you're going through what Chi Keng is going through with an overweight BABA portfolio.

Hahaha thank you! 🤣
People are too bearish. They think there's a crash coming but in reality this IS the crash. Believe it or not it was like that in 2008 too. The BIG crash was "still coming".

Thank you!
The issue with Chi Keng is not just timing, but overconfidence. By over concentrating in Baba, your risk is not just timing or valuation, you also need to get geopolitics, tech, competitive landscape etc etc exactly correct. Are you sure you manage your risk accordingly? Be truthful to yourself.
I wouldn’t bet on or against NVDA.
Hi Chi Keng/Boon Tee. Always enjoy your video. I always seek solace in your video, Chi Keng. I share the exact same “emotions” u share. But both of u sound “smart” to me. Lol

Congrats!
Boon Tee, I like your approach and analysis. I had been investing in Applied material and KLA that are semiconductor equipment suppliers. I had since sold off everything from US stocks. Do you think it is still worth investing in S&P500. Lately US stocks market is very bearish. Just too bearish!!! Very scary!!! No upside now. What I should be doing now? What your advice? Moreover, Nvidia or Microsoft they are all like what you said mature values.

Consider investing in the S&P 500 through dollar-cost averaging if you hold the following beliefs: 1) The global economy will continue to grow. 2) The U.S. will retain a significant role in driving this growth. 3) The benefits of this growth will be received by the capitalist class (i.e., shareholders). In essence, as long as the status quo remains, these three factors should be sustainable. I cannot guarantee that the world will not change, but if we accurately understand the broader picture, we should be fine. If you wish to hedge against a potential downturn in the U.S., consider diversifying your portfolio to include broader indices such as MSCI World and MSCI Emerging Market. Regarding individual stocks, each investor needs to identify their own reasons for owning a particular company's shares. If you struggle to determine the rationale, it may be best to stick with passive, broad-market ETFs. Lastly, it is crucial to maintain an ample emergency fund to avoid being forced to liquidate your stock investments during unfavorable market conditions. This approach not only provides financial security but also helps to stabilize your emotions.
