That was Jackie's BFF.
Boseman passed away on this year's Jackie Robinson Day. Absolutely gutwrenching. RIP Chadwick.

It's a shame we will never know the true breadth of Chad's talent. RIP
This movie should NEVER be re-made. No one can be Jackie except Chadwick. Legend. RIP

It's a biopic so I highly doubt it's gonna get remade

It actually is a remake or at least an update. Because back in the late 1950's a film called The Jackie Robinson Story which starred Jackie Robinson himself and Ruby Dee as Rachel was made. But obviously because of the era in which the movie was made, the real truth about what the man actually endured couldn't be told until "42."
Does anybody remember? There is - historically - a rather similar scene that happened during the 1936 Olympic Games in Germany. Under the very eyes of Adolf Hitler, the (white) German Lutz Long praised the (black) winner of the long jump competition, Jesse Owens, in front of the entire crowd. It takes courage and strong conviction to do this! Inspiring...

And Peewee Reese actually put his arm around Jackie Robinson in 1947, that took balls and courage too, but Jackie was his team member and I quote: 'This is my teammate, and I'll stand by him!'

Yes Jake, the putting-arm-around him was the crucial part. Much more impact than only speaking about it.

In Owen's auto bio he states Hitler and his chancellor waved to him and states "Hitler didn't snub me. It was FDR who snubbed me when I won the Olympics the president didn't even send me a telegraph. I did a report on the man once and found that out needless to say I am still mind blown about that statement.

Yes. And Jesse Owens ended up coming home and eventually racing against horses. And the great Joe Louis died broke.
Chadwick didnt care if he was dying of cancer and possibly had a limited amount of time on earth. He still chose to work and be remembered and didnt tell anyone.
RIP Chadwick. Nobody else had Jackie or James Brown like you did.

I agree.
Being a white boy from Mississippi and having read "jackies nine" as a young man I'll never be afraid to admit that this man was my idol and still is to this day. He did more, in one life, than a million men have in thier lifetime. This scene will always bring tears to my eyes.
This part of the movie really made me loving this movie..

I was just watching it today and this part always bring tears to my eyes. I’m American from dominican descendent, but at the end of the day it shouldn’t matter where your descendents are from, we’re the human race. But it hurts me how still these days we’re battling RACISM IN THIS GREAT NATION. I’m just sick and tired of the hate in the human race. 😢😢😢😢

It's completely over the top and corny and it still get me every time I see it.
As a kid I saw Pee-Wee & Jackie in that pose in a book and seeing it in reality amazed me..

I can't believe he's been gone 4 years already.
King of Drift and King of Wakanda together 💪❤️
As a fellow Kentuckian, I feel Peewee's sentiment. We can unlearn the toxic beliefs we were taught and let the world know what kinds of people we are.
Peewee Reese told Jackie Robinson that he wanted his family to know who he was. Well, despite is diminutive nickname, Peewee Reese was a BIG man!
This scene deserves an award.
He isn't great because he died fighting cancer ... He is great because he never stopped fighting even though he knew that it might be difficult.
YES! TOMORROW WE’LL ALL WEAR 42🥰🌍 RIP Chadwick Boseman
Still one of the best baseball movies ever
I watched this last night, completely unaware Chadwick was fighting for his life. Rest In Peace.
Pee Wee is my favorite character in 42, Lucas Black was great as him, not enough screentime tbh i want more of their friendship :' )
An amazing moment . so good when I saw the movie the first time i thought for sure it was a trumped up scene so screen. Then I heard the line again one year when mlb was celebrating Jackie Robinson day. "Maybe tomorrow we will all wear 42 so they can't tell us apart" it gives a whole new meaning to the entire mlb wearing the number 42 ... More then just honoring a man . but an idea that one day we will have to use the numbers to really know whos playing cus we no longer see color. It sucks that day is not here yet ... But man I can feel it on the horizon .
That was the greatest play in baseball !
This was my favorite scene of the movie.
Man, I love these comments!!
Chadwick Boseman Rest In Peace Thank You for showing me the the kinda of man I want to be. Thank you for showing the world that a superhero can look like me. We are suppose to grow up and past the concept of superhero dreams aside. I refuse .. I wear my heart on my sleeve and the ability to still believe in love, dignity , honor in world that has told me not to. I have at times fallen short of my own code, but with you're passing I know I can never give up . Thank You ... I must be my own hero, but the the movies you done reminds me the power of Art in all it's forms. Rest In Peace Brother. Wakanda 4 Ever BLM No Justice No Peace

This scene ❤️... Hate breeds hate.. love does love
Here's one scene from this year's film, '42'. It portrays Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese, in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 13, 1947. The original music score of this movie was composed by Mark Isham (a natural champion in portraying emotions of the underdog... and then... embodying heroism).
Rest in Power Chadwick Boseman
That's so beautiful. I really love a great film like that.
This part gets me every time
I love this movie
This scene really touches my heart and makes me so happy ~Reha

Let me tell you the other night I had a dream of a man standing in a Baseball uniform and his jersey said Los Angeles Dodgers .I played a little as a kid ,but never got into it when I grew up .This year for some reason I knew the Cubs would win I could feel it I don;t know why ! What is my connection to baseball IDK maybe the spirit of the game is with me! After I had this dream I looked up the Dodgers and found out that my Son has the same birthday as Jackie Robinson I was shocked ,also my birthday is the same day as Babe Ruth's Last Game go figure right ,but Awesome! I Love Then Both the Best ! Don,t go betting just because I said this I would hate for anyone to lose I'm just telling everyone my story ! All I can say is Dodgers work your ass off this year ,don't stress, breath, focus!! WIN FOR MY SON and JACKIE ROBINSON and if you do Win I want everyone to scream out loud JACKIE ,JACKIE,JACKIE .I think he would like that! Its all about the Spirit of the Game GOD IS LOVE!! If anything Win for that reason! AMEN!!
That was great scene and a leason for pewes family especially the small Boys look on a face. You didnt hear him screaming anymore.

Not a dry eye in the house. Read Roger Kahn's "Boys of Summer" and "The Era"!
I like both the Jackie Robinson story and 42. But I think 42 shows more than the one from 1950.
