Many of the neurodegenerative diseases, e.g. Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia with Lewy bodies, of today are classified as proteinopathies. Dr. Tipton specifically mentions Parkinson’s disease and how this proteinopathy refers to the malfunction of a protein called alpha synuclein.
