41 Animals in 10 Days - South Africa | "Safari Abroad" | Sandstone Safaris

Спорт

Traveling to South Africa and hunting has always been a dream of mine since I was a little kid, and this past season I was able to make that wish a reality as a couple buddies of mine (John "JC" Christopher and Brian Burkley) and I head to Sandstone Safaris in Limpopo, South Africa.
The trip did not disappoint as we were able to tag 41 animals, mostly plains game, in 10 days of hunting and I was able to have one of the most rememberable days of bowhunting of my career as I downed 4 animals in one day over one waterhole, including a world class kudu.
The trip ended on a high note with two HUGE Cape buffalo kills.

I hope all of you can justify what you’re doing and be proud of yourself. God bless you all studs!

You definitely wouldn’t want to see the “carnage” the government paid us to do to bring down populations in one area. Think 923 animals in 14days from raccoons, opossums and culled 270 deer. Oh yeah and the deer weren’t allowed to be used in any form or fashion, they were taken to off to a dumb site. That was a lot of meat wasted that could’ve went to people in need. Seriously I highly doubt ya even hunt just by your wording. These guys have the money to take full advantage of a 10day trip.

@@johnelkins4250 The "feeding the villagers" line is a myth. In other African (Safari destination) countries it may happen but in South Africa it [might] feed the client/hunters and maybe the camp staff, but the rest is processed and sold. Sometimes, depending on what is taken, the client won't even get to eat meat from his own trip. You can kill lots of animals in South Africa, but it's all put-and-take operations behind fences, and not really hunting.

For 1, the animals innards are used and eaten (even the watched them taking grass out of stomachs to use the stomach and intestines as casings) and 2 when u open up the animals, you expose the internal cavities to the air and that’s when they start growing bacteria, the longer they can stay closed, the longer it can keep …

The hunt itself is a lot cheaper than I would have ever thought, the real price is in getting things back and the travel to and from. But if you look up Sandstone Safaris, you can look up prices and packages they have. We're headed back in 2024 and counting down the days!

We only hunt what we eat in New Zealand. Unless it’s the Rut you can select a Stag for trophy but even then there is usually conditions. This ain’t it (in my opinion) hopefully the meat went somewhere and you didn’t just take the head.

There's 3 of us hunting in the video, and we all kept heads and hides for "trophies", we ate meat from the hunt while there, the rest (literally every shred of meat) was distributed to locals, and if we could have, we would have brought all the meat home but we're not allowed to (US rules).
