@@jessezondlewski2597 It those were ACTUAL Adeptus Astartes in that intro, instead of their tabletop counterparts, they'd take no casualties, or maybe one, if they get unluckily jumped on by burna boyz or suicide bombed by a boy with a tankubusta bomb. But you can see several fall from ork bullets even before the two sides clash. I love that opening animation, it's a huge piece of nostalgia for me, but let's be honest, that ain't even close to actual Space Marines. Dan Abnett, who writes power armour with durability of paper, gives Adeptus Astartes more endurace.

@@tacticalcannonfodder7369 Gokbay just mentioned the Raptors chapter and he is correct, they use camo in the lore. Hard to sneak around with a big motor on your back though, which is why the OG stealthy chapters usually do stealth by hacking the security system and then they'll just walk through using their superhuman reflexes to shoot everyone they come across before they have a chance to raise the alarm. Space Marines do stealth in the same way they do almost everything else: with brute force. I love it!

Guilliman: Only when extreme measures are required should a chapter number more than 1000. Black Templars: We ARE the extreme measures.

Space marines are prohibited from recruiting from certain worlds. Imperial guard recruitement worlds like Cadia (RIP), Catachan, Valhalla etc. etc. as theyre already providing the Imperium with guard regiments. And providing both guard regiments and Astartes recruits is abit more of a strain then a world can take. Given the.....rough, process of Astartes recruitment.

Dorn: Initially disagreed with codex. Dorn: Makes radical chapter that won’t listen to the the space book. 🧐

Especially true since Dorn hates showing that side of himself in public, and yet his very decision to semi-exile the chapter by sending them on an Eternal Crusade ensured that they would spread out farther and have a much greater impact on the galaxy than any of the other chapters. The Black Templars' continued success likely angered Dorn the same way many 40K players are annoyed by how much Games Workshop hands to the Smurf Squad on a regular basis.

It is said that the "Imperial Fists are Dorn's Duty incarnate. Black Templars are Dorn's Fury Incarnate And The Crimson Fists are Dorn's humanity, always hidden, incarnate. And I believe this to be true. Arch says they are nothing like Dorn but I disagree. They are the part of Dorn he does not show. That burning rage and passion. It is also stated that the Black Templars are fantastic artisans and artist when not in battle. They are very much based off the Teutonic Order, which uses the same black cross, that took over Prussia and created the Holy Roman Empire from 1190-1806.

in the lore the primaris are not ment to change the chapter cultures and personalities, each chapter has the responsability to educate the primaris in their ranks to follow their ways, there is nothing that forces the chapters to not do it.

Ah yes The Templars The crazy bastards who gave Grimaldus a Crozius Arcanum. I love the Black Templars; their aesthetic is wonderful, they march into battle chanting litanies of hate, they pray that they may be mighty enough to destroy their foes, and sometimes one of them gets to charge head-first into the worst of the fighting in artificer armor with a sword made from a shard of Dorn's own blade (according to chapter legend). I do love the psychopathic power-armored zealots. Also, as an addendum, I'd pay (extra) for a video on Grimaldus's own story.

Merek grimaldus bitch out a princeps (the pilot of a titan and high ranking (top?) of an entire legio) form almost death (more because of her 400-ish years old than proper damage) because she didn't did yet her part of their agreement. It was literally the last seconds of her life. He shouted at her. She cames back to life. The legio titanicus are the biggest arrogant shit in the imperium, they can do what they want during a war, they follow their agenda. Even if it could lead to the imperium to fail. Grimaldus doesn't care. He was in charge, it took control of everything. He doesn't ask for, he tells what it needs to be done by whom, and it gonna be done right. Not sure if all the Primarchs were psykers. Sure they were connected to the warp ... but if they all were psykers ... they would never actually die. Just like Magnus they would assume their true form. Since their souls would be immense. Not all of them would be able to manifest in the material world tho ... because of a lack of knowledge that Magnus has.

To be fair the BT recruitment and training is quite similar to the Jedi. You are not a true Jedi/Astarties until you reach "Knight", once you have the lowest echelons are expected to train padawans/neophytes until they reach the rank of master/sword brethren, and the first lesson is to throw down that gun and pick up your blade. The only difference is the Padawan is expected to survive.

Honestly from my research the Black Templars always appear as reasonable and relaxed aside from fan interpretations of them. They use sensible tactics, ally with xenos, protect the weak, whereas they are commonly depicted as only having murder on the brain otherwise.

Excuse YOU, Arch, the Imperial Fists are already awesome. They're not flashy like some of the other chapters, but they do their duty with stoic dedication and can always be trusted to give their all. Not fickle or self-obsessed, their devotion to the Imperium is what makes them awesome. That said, Black Templars are fucking awesome.

The Imperial Fists are about awesome as a bunch of farmers but at least farmers proudce food. Squatting atop walls is no service to the Emperor. Crusading and bringing the war to evil xenos, the flithy heretics, and those that would threaten the Imperium is service. We were not remade in his image to hide like cowards. We were made in his image to bring His light to all corners of existence. To slaughter His enemies, to purge this wretched existence of those unworthy of his gift.

It’s awfully convenient how the only psykers that are “blessed by the Emperor”, and therefore hunky dory for the Black Templars, just so happen to be the only ones that could allow the Templars to operate as they do. I could almost imagine an embarrassing story behind that little caveat in their beliefs.

One thing you forgot to mention: undoubtedly a lot of Inquisitors are happy to let them be over strength because they're so good at what they do.

Finally! I have waited for this for far too long! Edit: One thing that surprises me is that there is no mention of the Templar Brethren, which were a pre Heresy formation of the Imperial Fists. They were an Elite formation within the chapter and have very similar heraldry to the later Black Templars.
