there was this theory that admech's tradition of slicing away parts of their body and replacing them with mechanical parts have something to do with the dragon of mars. the ctan loves feeding on souls, what if slicing away parts of their body also does away with a little of their life's essence, sort of like a tribute to the void dragon. being a ctan that controls technology, this was probably done to appease the omnissiah and guard their machines against malfunctions. but this is just too heretical to be true and probably just a theory.

It would actually kinda make sense with keeping it imprisoned;the emperor kicked its ass, buried it on mars, and figured out a way to use its passive influence even whilst dead/incapacitated/dormant to slowly bring about the Mechanicus, all while also keeping the damn thing satisfied with scraps of souls and not fighting its restraints whilst also (to a overwhelming degree) keeping knowledge of it from both the Adeptus Mechanicus AND all but the most trusted servants on Earth... I'm not sure who initially set up that Cult of the Dragon thing we had in the Horus Heresy book Mechanicus though... it's probably the Emperor, but somehow it doesn't FEEL like the Emperors doing,especially since at the time he buried the Dragon, space travel would have been both difficult and stupidly dangerous, and if he truly did fight the thing as far back as its implied, there would have been no space travel for hundreds or thousands of years.

@@Shinzon23 Emperor had nothing to do with establishing Cult of the Machine. Their faith was created after Dark Age of Technology, when terraforming of Mars failed and planet reverted to a red wasteland. Survivors depended on scraps of technology so much that they started to venerate and worship them. There was barely space for Machine God believers in their enclaves and surely there was none for the nonbelieviers. Also, Emperor could travel through the Warp, so spacecraft wasn't needed. What we truly know about his abilities and powers?

The AdMech one is one of the best pages on the site, and one of the best sources of information and understanding on the Machine cult, if you can filter past the tongue in cheek stuff, because it explains why it acts like it does; despite what people will tell you, they are not a backwards religious orthodoxy that hates progress. They are a backwards religious orthodoxy that loves progress, as long as it meets certain criteria that generally mean it won't try to kill everyone. Its my favorite line, really shows Trazyn doesnt just understand Cawl, hes researched him, he knows him, and he knows him well enough to take the bet that Cawl will let him help with the pylons. Its also a great jab at Cawls existence.

The only reason Trazyn's here: To make sure that the Immaterium doesn't screw up any of his collectibles. The taint of Chaos would mess up the entirety of his collection, and Trazyn values those above all else. Oh, and saving the galaxy is a plus.

The Emperor made the Primarchs which I would argue are still beyond anything the Primaris are, even the rule books state that the Primaris are only another step to a Primarch, since they are missing certain gene sequences and organs.

They are also missing the warpcraft the emperor used in the making of the primarchs. Its never clearly stated but they do flirt with the primarchs not being human. I think the primarchs were warp entities bound into organic constructs. Based on their behavior, I'd say the emperor might have even stolen parts of the gods to make them. edit: also the primarchs have been perfectly cloned by a space marine. if fabius can do it, why not cawl?

@@Kill4Control Yes, Cawl made stronger Space Marines, but it was a process that took him millennia and working with what little was left of the Emperors notes on Space Marine and Primarch creation, even now he still can't rival what the Emperor did. By contrast, from the first Thunder warriors, to the first Space Marines, less than a millenium had passed, perhaps even much less. The Emperor was able to create the Thunder Warriors, then the Primarchs and ultimately the Space Marines in just a few centuries at most

The Fall of Cadia is like; THE EVENT. It dwarfs Guilliman’s return by a factor of ten. The Gate Has Fallen. I personally believe any true warhammer player would have fought at that bastion to the death with every legion they have raised over the years. It would have been the new Armageddon. Vigilus is trying to make up for it, but goddamnit I want to lay down the lives of both my Astartes chapters, my tau carde, and my guard regiment holding off an endless horde of chaos space marines, cultists and daemons, every sacrifice buying the galaxy another second of survival. Duplicating, yes. As for "successfully", that's not proven (and not very likely, considering that Quixos had to rely on his access to Warp secrets, which are antithesis of Necron technology).

Are those the correct words? I find that no matter wich I use, no one ever believes them. Wait... What did you call me? Cawl:"You are an abimination" Trazyn"Thief normally suffices. I prefer Honoured Guest. But abomination or thief , you and I have common cause." Cawl:"Logic dictates otherwise." Have they written Veilwalker out of the game?

knowing the lore of this grand battle, i have to agree it is weird that this eldar part is cut out. but the "new" player doesnt know anything about that eldar at this moment. i believe it was just cut to make the scene more simpler. veilwalker and the other eldar will definetly appear in the game

It makes sense to explore more detail in the Gathering Storm books... In a game like this? Wouldn't work. Narrative changes happen, but you get the general gist of what is happening. Veilwalker is more relevant due to her part with the Ynnari in book 2 and beyond. Possibly they might reference her? Or perhaps if they do an Eldar Campaign DLC (Since that would allow 3 of the playable factions to feature, similar to how Imperium Campaign will have Admech and Astartes with the Navy).

I would assume it to be similar to how the Blackstone Fortress actually hits Cadia in BGA:2 as well- instead of some tactical genius with the engines in the fortresss turning on (yet not destroyed for reasons) it's literally Abbadon forcing DOZENS of ships to push it into the planet. Both a much more badass visual, and a much more logical one than the book told.

Imothek, Zahndrekh, Szarek, Orikan, Trazyn etc... Necrons have some cool characters in general

I like Cawl so much, his machine and flesh are not so blinded like much of the mechanicum and imperium that he isn't immediately refusing completely to work with Trayzen, he understands what is necessary and at least hes only a little batshit crazy after 10,000 years haha

That they still put flesh on Cawl's bones means they did a better job understanding the Lore than GW did!

I really love how Tindalos made the cutscenes, they got that Text-to-Speech vibe after Alfabusa got his art evolution in later seasons, let's hope more studios make motion-comic styled cutscenes, by the end of the day it's the lore and narrative what makes 40k bright so much.

Always remember one of the guard novels i read, the name sadly escapes me, where a squad with a tech-priest in toe split up in a labyrinth of ruined structures. One of the guardsmen characters discovers the tech-priest up to something and the is swiftly killed by it in order to maintain secrecy... not very pleasant with its mechanical tentacles. Or another when a detachment of Sister's of Battle take command of a column of chimeras and order they drive over the fleeing refugees... thus is 40k though.

I went through the fires of biotransference in chains. You, I think, have gladly sliced away your humanity piece by piece"* I think this is were Trazyn said he's more human than Cawl. Humanity being much more than about your body, but also your mind.

i love how from a far 40k seems like a parody on extreme xenophobia but the deeper you get into the lore the more you realise every faction's actions make total sense, and that in some situations they are even willing to colaborate, its a world so dark that dictatorship and xenophobia are simply the correct answer in some situations

Yup the lips look awkward.. facves look like they are made of plastic that has a hard time to move, and the animation looks like something out of the emperor text-to-speech. Doesn't stop them from delivering PURE AWESOME

A 10,000 years old guy who has been transplanted with multiple tentacles, cybernetic eyes implant, handheld speaker, and a giant reactor installed on his back said to a normal-looking humanoid terminator robot, "But you are an abomination!"

I had an experience some months ago when i was at sea on the merchant ship during the storm rai near the philippine island of palawan our engines were failing the crew was afraid the storms wind and waves crash in the deck i was on duty in the bridge that time i noticed the engines sound was screaming to me it was almost like it wanted me to slow down the rpms so did after that the engines where stabilizing the movement of the ship was smoother i thought to my self “did the ship spoke to me?” Thats when i understood the spirit of this mighty machine though strong needed my help and the engineers thanked me for it. It calmed me that the spirit touched me and helped me understand

Belisarius is probably the best character that GW has produced in recent years...So far there hasn't been but Marines and Guardsmen as promienent figures in Lore. It was about time that such a colourful faction as AdMech got their own.

I love when you see Cawl from far he looks cool and intimidating, but near, you see him like a sad old man with a destroyed body

Cawl mentally thought "we doing this my way or WE DOING THIS MY WAY"

Trazyn the infinite troll only aided him due to the fact that chaos messed up his collection when the bells rang, and the fact that if the universe gets swallowed by chaos he can no longer go on his usual pokemon hunting trips.

@@danielm.595 In the tabletop game (I'm not sure about the exact details of this, as I'm an Admech player), if Creed is your warlord, you can place a unit in reserve, to be deployed later in the game. the explanation for this is that he is a tactical genius and saw the best way to hide a unit in that location ahead of time. This makes some sense. However, the hidden unit could be ANY unit, including a titan. Hence the memes of colossal war machines hiding in very small spaces.

If anyone hasnt read it i recommend reading The Infinite and the Divine which goes deep into necron lore. Trazyns voice in this is exactly how i would imagine it woulld be

I like how he has 92% percent chance of accurate prediction. So almost ten percent chance that Cawl is just spouting bullshit XD

I'm honestly happy to have this type of animation, I'd love for more of this!

Looking at Cawl's upper body, specifically his head, all I can think of is that Genie Quote, "ten thousand years will give you such a crick in the neck."

Somebody is about to be tickled with the bad electricity.

This may be Heresy but my allegiance is slowly shifting to that of The Necrons, if you're gonna dance with The Devil you may as well lead.
