407 Poverty Row, Whitingham, Vermont
What a gem! This absolutely meticulously maintained cape sits just up from Lake Sadawga and Harriman Reservoir on a private 4 acre lot with extensive private trails. The home is conveniently located off a paved road with a concrete driveway for clean easy use, and has curb appeal beyond what most can dream of. Features include a beautiful open floor plan with large living room, oak floors, great natural light thanks to plenty of windows, a stone hearth with gas fireplace, large kitchen with island and ample dining room space, a main floor full bath and guest room/den, a large upstairs dormired master, 2 guest rooms and 2 full baths, a finished lower level with bonus room for overflow sleeping and finished family room, central air conditioning, and generator. Exit via the charming newly redone covered trex breezeway deck, or covered front porch, over to the 2 car garage, and you'll find the bonus guest apartment with another full bath, kitchenette, and large bedroom/living room. Across the bridge over the meandering brook bisecting the property you will find a gorgeous country barn with electric and tremendous storage, which was lifted with new piers. Enjoy the property year round thanks to a spacious level lawn, walking trails, pine forest, or nearby access to lakes, country villages or ski resorts, as it is a short drive to Mount Snow. The septic is sized for 4 bedrooms full time use.

Excellent video tour. Beautiful home and property.
Wow!!!
Lovely! The street name perhaps refers to the aftermath of meeting the local property tax collector?

Can we change the address? I wouldn’t want to live on poverty row!
All I see is popcorn ceiling, 1970s painted cabinets with a stovetop to match and a 40 year old pink bathtub. 475 seems a bit steep for all these treasures

The outside looks renovated, the inside not so much. When was it built??
🤔
Street name is a slap in the face
Why would anyone want to live on a street called "Poverty Row"?
My gosh, who named this street? Lol! No one wants to live on Poverty Row!

It’s a local area not associated with what you would consider Poverty in nomenclature.
Maybe the street name is an attempt at reverse psychology for the state and local property tax assessors?
