Wool truly is an amazing thing. And also shearling doesn't itch me the way other wool products can tend to. It's crazy how farmers here in the UK can't even give it away! The economy is ludicrous. I have a shearling jacket that's over 40 years old and it's still going strong. The warmest thing I own and it's true that it doesn't smell. Well done Goral and Rose Anvil

I started watching Rose Anvil 3 weeks ago. In that time frame I've bought/ordered: Crown Northampton cordovan sneakers, Thursday sneakers, Jim Green African Barefoot Boot and the MUGGS 2.0. So yeah, I think I have an addiction. I went from not being a shoe guy to having 3 on order 😂 But thanks to the detailed information on this channel, I am able to appreciate the shoes and buy with confidence knowing that they will last, as opposed to the junk I would buy before that would need replacing every couple years.

I’m a huge fan of the causal/minimal leather high top sneaker look. Many brands make these types of leather sneakers. I get the selling point of these is the shearling and the warmth it provides. However, you can get similar results by purchasing a quality leather high top sneaker, and wearing a thick wool sock. One example is Beckett Simonon, who makes a beautiful high top leather sneaker for $170. Pair that with a quality heavyweight wool sock and you’ve accomplished a similar goal for $200 instead of $400.

Not exactly the same because there is more air in the shearling than in tight knit fabric but still a valid point :)

Love this! Especially the colors. Bummer they sold out so fast! I don't think there's anything to change, however, I WOULD love to see a laceless option. Same shoe, just except for laces, it's got elastic gussets, almost like a slip-on chukka, but with that sneaker profile and outsole.

As an old climber my fleece layer was made of wool precisely because of its insulation properties when wet. It can be life threatening if you get wet while stuck somewhere on a mountain or way back on a wilderness approach. Maintaining insulation when wet can stave off hypothermia and make a huge difference. I’m definitely a wool fanboy.

These are fuckin Dope and I’m definitely shooting for the next drop and if I may give a slight tweek that imo will set these off and you can really start a booming business with this shoe because I’m a bit of a oddball in my community (black street guys who love looking good) and I assure you none of them even know these shoes exist don’t know if you want to keep that way or what but there’s definitely a opportunity for a real business even if it’s just seasonal and still exclusive but instead of a 100 pair run you can do 2 to 3000 pair run east season and bump the price up to $500-$600 to compensate your workers for the demand and the same way the brand is stamped in the leather on the tongue you could put R.Anvil going down the back strap of the right shoe and Goral down the left idk I think that would be dope but love the channel love the products peace bro ✌🏾

Bought common projects a while back. They're still going strong but I want these for winter. It's super hard to find something good looking that also keeps my feet warm. I bought a pair of UGGs for a winter trip and they were decent but were too tight on my feet. They were $250 and I still have them but don't wear them. These look super nice and it looks like you have wide sizes which is what I'm missing. I probably won't have the money this shipment but hope to pre-order the next drop early next year.

Received mine this week- they are perfect apart from one minor bug - grommets are a bit low quality and not proper in rim for the leather. Two of them got loose, will substitute them. Plus the back-side of grommets is not flat, but “teethy”- it’s better to use a flat one for laces. Hope this will be addressed in Muggs 3.0 The reason grommet got flimsy- the hole that was punctured was too large for the 5mm (inner diameter) grommet. Had to substitute it with a 6mm one with a larger rim and back-ring.

These look awesome. I love the features and the philosophy that went into their design. I wish they produced these only 1 size larger. I've been shopping for a good pair of lightweight boots for a long time, but way too many manufacturers don't make US men's size 15 at all. I'm willing to spend money on a well made, relatively light, un-insulated (or at least lightly insulated so my feet don't sweat) boot which can be resoled and kept for years, and which can be worn with slacks or jeans just as readily as the other. As it stands, I'm still using Army desert boots from 2006, made by Bellville, which have at least 15000 miles on them by this point. They're great boots and they're as well broken in as any boot you'll ever find, but they're still combat boots patterned on the old Vietnam-era jungle boots. Any recommendations? I'd prefer something I can try on in-store (Washington DC region) but I'm willing to drive a couple of hours away to get boots that'll last me the next 20+ years.

I'm not a fan of Converse at all, and would MUCH rather cop some Muggs, but converse offering sherpa and fleece linings caught my eye. They're also delving into some other non-custom cold weather / "weatherproof" gear and I'm curious to see if it's all just overhyped.

Good comfortable boots/sneakers made in Europe for around 200 bucks (they also have a outlet with a 30-50% discount). They still look good even after a couple of years of use. My only problem is that they spray perfume in the box before shipping so you gotta walk around smelling like a Portuguese cobbler the first week.

My issue is that we so easily sweat on our feet, and I just feel these will be too warm actually. I'd rather add warmth through socks/insoles than to walk around in a pair of wool slippers. If you walk around in a jacket that is too warm, you can simply just unzip it or even take it off. Most wouldn't carry an extra pair of shoes so you take off a pair that is too warm, and then put on the less warm ones. The other side of that coin is what if you are going to spend time in a building with normal temperatures, are you going to have to leave these at home... I just feel it's a pair of slippers for the cabin to be frank. I wouldn't want these because I'd just sweat my feet off.

Please do a review of Courteney Safari boots. They’re the ultimate walking/hiking boots, made by hand from African game leather. From Zimbabwe. They might be the best value boot in earth considering their build quality

I loose myself everytime you cut apart a pair of your collabration shoes or boots. I would order a pair of these, but they only come in a D width. I do enjoy seeing all of your videos...

For HALF the price, there are plenty of winter sneakers out there! Just look towards motorcycle shoes. Chuck Taylor meets Boot style…Waterproof uppers, GoreTex lined, and NOT $500🤣

Yeah that’s fair but they aren’t made from the same material or made to the same quality or made in the same country so like I mentioned (I think) in this video. There are plenty of cheaper options that will keep your feet warmer for longer but none of them look as good or are made from as good of materials. They are definitely not for everyone but it’s more fun making the best of something instead of the cheapest something.

imagine whole shearling leather glued and stitched to rough out waxed cowhide, like that...one shoe in the white sneakers series, but you get also the bonded wool to its sheep leather for durability+ insulation, might be a nd sneaker

As the year comes to and end can you make a Top Shoes Of 2024 video that includes sneakers and boots? Perhaps something along the lines of brackets: Best shoes between 100-150: best sneaker, best boot, best flipflop (idk lmao) Best shoes between 150-250: XYZ Best shoes between 250-400: XYZ Best shoes between 400-600: XYZ I enjoy upgrading my footwear from year to year and look for better more high quality products but it's often hard reading through all the marketing BS. I suppose on average most people are just looking for a good allrounder or daily while some need it for a specific task. Personally if I can walk and stand in them for 12+ hours a day, that's good enough for me. Love from Germany. God bless 🙏🏼

I really hope the industry is paying attention to these short run 'concept' footwear - a LOOOOT of these companies do NOT have the pulse for what a lot of us out here actually want, but Weston(and a few others) doesn't just have the pulse for what a lot of consumers want(because they are the consumers too), but also with the technical knowledge and resources to turn these 'wants' into an actual usable product. - I've wanted a quality winter sneaker forever(having grown up in Ohio); granted my budget isn't there for these SUPERB Gorals yet, which is why I hope the industry is paying attention and something like these can become a 'production' model from someone, or hopefully multiple companies. - I've wanted a heritage construction 'barefoot' work boot forever(having worked in construction through my 20s, now working on cars); and the Jim Green barefoots ARE going to be in my possession soon enough(lol). Again, would be nice to see options from multiple manufacturers. These are holes in the market, and I don't think they're just 'tiny little niches'; a whole lot of people live & work in cold weather places, but may just work in an office or something so they aren't trudging through deep snow that necessitates boots, rather it's more so about the cold and wet. I don't want to wear my winter work boots in to town, a [quality] cold sneaker would be perfect, and it's a classic style that has mass appeal too. Not to mention the semi-mainstream adoption/interest in 'barefoot' footwear(or even just zero drop), I don't want to walk around in "high heels for men" if I'm not standing on ladders and such all the time or working in rough terrain, and would certainly much prefer a roomier toe box if I'm going to be standing & moving in these all day. These are SENSIBLE ideas, not wild ideas - so hopefully the industry notices. Support these products NOW if you believe in them and can afford to, lettem' know how much market interest there is in these concepts!

I would have the rubber sole that also matches the colour of the boot. The fleshy brown colour is not for everyone.

What if you are a half size on the Brannock? I am a 11 1/2. It looks like Goral doesn't do half sizes. Also, is there a non-shearling-lined version/counterpart of this sneaker for use during the summer or other times when wool would make your feet sweat profusely?

Since this video is months old, I guess no one will see this, but I got my MUGGS today. Love them. I'm wondering if I should do anything to protect them before I wear them. I work for a brewery in New England, but on the retail side which is dryer and cleaner than the brewing side. So, I am behind a bar, serving beer, greeting (ID'ing) customers at the door or walking in and out of large coolers and then outside to customers cars to deliver beer during New England winters. I'm looking forward to warmer feet this year, but these sneaker/boots are likely to get splashed with beer or water or step in a puddle, etc. But, I would love to keep them looking as nice as possible. Any advice?
