A : Joyo, B : Dream! Great comparison!

Definitely a noticeable difference, B is more balanced and has a more agreeable top end, especially with the fuzz (although A's mid focus might be better in a mix?). Which on is which, who knows...

Has anyone ever tried chaining ten joyos together?

Just got the joyo and I’m blown away. Amazing pedal platform. The voice non has great clean to crunch and even the cab sim sounds great

of course B is the 400$

I trust the UA to actually stay up to playing live gigs.

I've played the joyo American sound many times live. Works like Champ

There is a clear difference, but not something that would let me say "A is better than B". This is a taste (and budget) choice, I think.

I have the Joyo. I thought I recognized it and was right. I also felt the UA was a greater refined sounding product. I think there;s reverb and things going on in the feature set of the UA. You've done a great job dialing in a surprisingly good pedal in the Joyo, but I'd wager there are things the UA can do that the Joyo cannot.

When you live in Brazil like me, Joyo will be always better.

Loved this. This actually tested me without pre-judgements. Unfortunately I also rate the B better, much better, so the more expensive I have to get :)))

When you played clean channel, A sounded brighter, and B sounded smoother. I didn’t discern much of a difference on overdrive and spaced on the fuzz. Preference may be more taste-I liked the brighter sound of A and so maybe the expensive, although it makes sense for smooth to be more expensive, but maybe the cheap one is B?

What was it. I am assuming B. was the more expensive one because it sounded better.

preferred A for Fuzz. Other than that, majority your audience couldn't tell the difference - but it is a difference to us as players.

A sounded more transistorish, B was more tube like.

I can hear the deference. I like the Pedal B .

My guess is that B is the Dream '65.

I can’t find the bottom of the description but #2 sounded better. I’d save the $400 and put it towards build my own Dr Z ,tho. That would take care of the transformers.

Yes you can tell the difference. There is a difference in the low end eq and clarity, I liked #2

@@dar8837 you have no idea what I'm talking about, and that's okay lol you could have just asked... Look into circuit design, and resistors filtering gain staging, and maybe you'll know what I'm talking about! You'll also need to realize that UA utilizes high end DSP *heavily* in their audio processing designs, so naturally they'll result in what could be defined as a more full range frequency response in their pedals. Unless you were just looking for attention on the Internet. 👍

B is best by far!

If A is just for messing around in your room, you can't go wrong with it. If you need a serious pedal with specific capabilities, the ampbox seems to be worth the extra dollars. I think B sounded better on my studio monitors, but that could come down to any number of factors in the recording chain.

Pretty obvious when even the clean sound on the cheap one sounds like a can of bees and it just gets even worse as you turn up the gain.

I liked B and assumed that was the cheap box…I hadn’t thought of it being a blind test.

The difference is your setup, try to adjust the voice and mid at 12o'clock on pedal A and see the difference

B is the Dream 65 hands down

Paused and without looking I like B better but I think it’s my preference for bright and clean.

Can't tell you which one was which, but I preferred the sound of B better. A still sounded good though. Can't wait to see if I have expensive or cheap taste lol

if they both had the same cab sim IR loader they would sound identical. But unfortunately Joyo can't change IRs

I think you set B up to sound a little bit fuller so that we would guess that it's the $400 pedal so I'm gonna say that A is the $400 dream and be is the $40 Joyo😎

I preferred A on each example, more open and natural. B was too nasal and compressed 2 my ears. I am hoping that A was the Joyo. That pedal is a phenomenal amp/ cab sim that is a slept on cheap treasure of a pedal!

Should the Amp sim pedals be placed in the end of chain or in the middle of chain? Thanks 😃

Either at the very end or after drive and before time-based effects. Try both. Its all preference!

Yes. They do sound different. But both sound good.

I like the clean sound of A more but the drive sounds are kinda sad, assuming A is the joyo.

Yeah, the UA pedal is better. I don't know if it's $360 better. I mean, you can probably get a real used deluxe for around a grand?

The difference isnt in the circut but in the parts used ,how well its crafted and how long it will last so right of the box there wont be much difference real players know which one they need.

B is warmer

Based on what i heard i bet you these 2 pedals have the exact same or similar circuitry. If there is a difference its very little.

I mean A still sounds fine for the money.... I can clearly hear a big difference but not for that price difference for a pedal. I've got the kind of money like that to throw away on a pedal, I'd rather just spend twice that and get a fractal FM3 lolol

A only sounds like an amp if it's the cheapest possible Crate solid state practice amp from 1989.

B sounds about 10x better than A

You run a guitar cable out to a DI box or an audio interface (like a focusrite scarlett). So no amp or speaker is necessary.

You'll have to wait for my full review. Feel is really where you notice the difference. But it's not as big a gap as you might think.

Going to guess Pedal B is the Dream and A is the Joyo. So I'm guessing that Pedal B is the Joyo and Pedal A is the dream. Haha

Thats why we should only Listen and not Look!

1st one was better but like 50-100$ difference not that much. Id rather pay the money on individual pedals i can actually change with my feet and not scroll through with my hands.

B had far more dynamic range and fuller richer tone.

I was going to say that A was harsher and B was warmer. Then I looked and knew why B was more costly. It sounds more real.
