I'm Salvadoran living in Canada and retiring soon, already built a decent sized brand new home for $50,000 u.s. dollars. I already owned the land and have an older house on it too. I'm going to retire with $3,800/month and I only need $1,300/month to live more than comfortable, including owning a vehicle.

I think you hot yourself a good deal. Being semi furnished, high speed wi-fi, you have a key to the front door at the main gate, you mentioned pool... dude... you're in there... Wish they had places like that near the capital...

The security has improve a lot the last couple of years, this architecture was common and popular among the locats to secure their belongings

I like the gate. They should have small cameras too there. I wonder how the Dengue and the Zeka viruse epidemics are doing there..

The authorities are taken care to provide promt attention to people that are sick and the military is working cleaning the areas with contaminated water

How does El Salvador compare to Panama or Costa Rica, especially with issues of drought, migrants, economic instability etc.?

Santa Ana "centro" usually have runing water all day 24/7 and some houses have installed AC units but is not that common unless they want to have an Airbnb business.

How would retired Americans and Canadians fit in we within the framework you are presenting about San Salvador for the winter? What about issues of conveniences and amenities?
