I did a few HV ( High Value) loads when I drove OTR, one was with like 300 big screen TV's, Jack Daniels whiskey load and copper plates. That Jack Daniels load, I had 6 black SUVs three in front & three ghosting behind me. At my fuel stop, they cleared the fuel island

I’m having flashbacks of when my sister pushed me down a hill at Tanks age and the wagon rolled and I broke my collarbone and spent most of the summer in a cast around my torso and the itching and stench was terrible not to say straightening my arm when they took off the cast was impossible for about a week!!!! The first few times that it worked was fun but the pain was unbearable!!! BE CAREFUL TANK!!!! Great to see the loads are coming in even though they seem a little light on the pay part but I get how you’re getting the best bang for your buck!!! I remember when we had to recover our customers airplane after he ran off the end of the runway at Harris Ranch, it may smell outdoors but that steak indoors smelled very good!!

We used to pickup Copper coils in CT and deliver it to Port Newark NJ, same day. Sometimes it went to Denver, PA. Same day. They made copper wire with it. It was pulled over and over and stretched and rewound around small cores and shipped.

oh man those scales bring back memories of bad things lol! I had to do the exact same thing a few times at different shippers. thank the good lord never blew a tire but I did see a guy pop his steer right after i weighed. was not a good day for that fellow.

Copper is currently $4.50/pound. The weirdest shippers and receivers I've dealt with in 3 years were mostly Nolan loads. A super tight receiver and several construction sites among them.

It's crazy seeing you stop at the same places I stopped at today. We came up from Brunswick GA near the paper plant up 95/26 to NC. But we stopped at the Loves as well. Must have been after you.

We make stuffed peppers all the time. It’s a favorite. That could have been a septic truck that went by. I live in a town surrounded by farms. When the wind is blowing in the right direction, it’s a stinky day.

About 35 years or so My wife and I lived in Fort Worth,Texas and we scrap copper we were getting $ 14.00 a pound. We sold all kinds of scrap metals. We' d see dead people on electrical lines , I guess they cut into electrical and it killed them. New blds, houses and schools were being robbed for the copper There were armed guards everywhere it was crazy. So they cut down on buying alot of new copper and brass. We started selling used air conditioners and appliances to people who fixed and resold them

I have to say as your intro says I think head bolts on a cummins is the hardest bolts I've ever tried to get out and they are the most aggravating bolts ever to torque back down .... I think it's 150 ft lbs then 250 ft lbs then 90 degrees lol

Old vegetable grease (like oil for deep fryers) is also used for soap. Some meat waste products end up as soap also.

Just a little math. If your hauling copper, 20,000 lbs x4.52 = 90,400 $ sitting in the box

I just took a look at the price of scrap copper if you have 20,000 lb of copper in your box you're looking at a price of $86,804 For that 20,000 lb so hopefully no one tries to steal that load because that's a big chunk of money right there There's 195 different countries in the world 193 of them belong to the UN

The reason for oversized loads might need whole road because of weight and bridge law. An how tall the load is, for overpasses. Reasons for rear truck to push or adding additional braking.

Before I retired we used to ship precious metals to a reprocessing facility and a single crate could be worth 100,000. We would ship 2-3 crates and I always shipped via OTR vs LTL and used a company I was familiar with who would have his insurance company issue a specific Ryder. This would be considered a small LTL shipment, usually 6 ft of a 53. It was not worth the risk to ship via just anyone.

Haha...Not funny 😅. It's been on and off for a few hours and the yard is already flooding but luckily only in a few areas. Good thing the ground is incredibly dry due to the heat waves 😂 aka Summer. UHH! I forgot to buy some rubber boots to wade through the flood....dang it!!! I'll have to use an old pair of sandals 🩴😂😂😂.

Copper has been valuable for years. Junkies stealing Copper pipes and wires from houses. Under construction, demolition and sometimes? You're gone on vacation. My friends grandfather used to collect old wire and build a fire and melt the insulation off. Some places I've been to have elevated scales. Maybe 6 feet from the ground. Yeah, driving up and down with my head out of the window. Talk about "" T's and P's""!

Can anyone please tell me how trucking is doing these days, I’m a driver, got put out of work for sleep apnea, and it’s just one thing after another keeping me from going back to work. We got a dam good paying load of medical supplies and medicine for a medical supply in Florida. A driver (Not Our's) got pulled over for swerving passing the center line. Ue ended up getting arrested and the cops called us to tow the Semi and trailer. We contacted the company about the driver and trailer and they was like please deliver the load to Florida. They sent us the $$$. The company who's receiving the losd is not very happy with the shipper (Trucking Company) the receiver is in fact going to pay us $$$$$. Ha ha I just spotted one of our very very good friends of our's passing you. Jesse was like send thst to Friend's and they was like huh who did we pass? They thought they passed one of our driver's that knows them. That's why we don't haul load's like thst. Cause there are devices that u can actually tell what's in the trailer. And if they detect copper material trust me your trailer's gonna be gone. Nana finally realizes wjy Jesse takes his backpack with him wuej he goes in companies and uses tuere bathrooms cause allot of them use sandpaper toilet paper and we hate those kinds. Ha ha ha Nana said Diet Mountain Dew yuck pass. Jesse looks back at her and said hey Diet Mountain Dew tastes better than Diet Dr Pepper. We have case's of case's of Diet Mountain Dew that a driver was delivering for Pepsi Co was giving like about 30 case's f Diet Mountain Dew and Pepsi and Jesse grabbed allot of the Diet Mountain Dew. Nana she is starting to like Diet Mountain Dew. It's always good heading home and the grandkids running up to me and Jesse. Jesse's time is almost up and it's going to be me driving for a hour then head to a hotel and shower and sleep. Nana's in the passenger seat and she's googling best hotel's and truck parking. We will be giving tue trailer back to the trucking company when we get back to Texas. They are going to be getting the truck out tomorrow morning if they remember to bring cash

I'm surprised that they don't have satellite tracking and I would be concerned about someone following the truck leaving the shipper.
