Dwelling in our homes, with their tails wagging, Dogs bring us joy that's never lacking. With eyes that are bright, and paws that are soft, They fill our hearts with love so often.

There is 2 thing missing: - Licking paws may indicate arthritic pain in front legs. - A dog panting may indicate: pain in internal organs, toothache skin inflammation, arthritic bone pain (hips, knees, spine)

My daughter has a dog (2024) at 3 yrs old his personality change to boring and not joining the fun, ignoring other dogs or puppies. One day the vet find a bad tooth on him. He never cry or show signs of pain. Was removed and Tucker went back to social happy dog.

In the late 70's..I had a new mate living with me and my boys...I had never met a person who beat dogs so i never expected what happened and to this day, I cry thinking and telling you about this, I had a cat too...but something was always happening to my pets...I finally caught him beating our 2 yrs old horse..i ran in the road, took the horse's ( i forget what we call it now) and i told the horse to come with me..and told that mate i never wanted him near the horse again..i cleaned its place in the small barn and took care of him..I let him loose around and when my bread was baked I would give him a piece with molasses when I was out of carrots...he would run to me..soon after he was sold to a couple of men who assured me he would be well taken cared for....so the mate had rage inside because of that...he almost killed me beating me for 3/4 miles..cops arrived just in time to save me and my kids as he had planned to murder us all that night...today I'm 70 and living with bad ptsd..i get alarmed if my dog acts funny....so from what ive seen so far....all animals sense when bad people are around...sorry for this long one...

My boy was a discarded hunter found on a tip. The vet thought about 3 years old. He did some amazing things very clever. He did take a while to train as never been is a house. When we sat down in the evenings he used to lie to my left and the arm of the settee was next to me. When he was about 14 he started coming up to the arm of the settee and sniffing my breast and staring in my eyes, it took a while before he would lie down in his usual place.. It turned out I had cancer in that breast...

0:50 The reason a dog tilts its head is because it's changing its ear position from horizontal to vertical. When it's confused, it tries to hear sounds coming from high and low areas instead of just the normal left and right.

My dog howls at certain commercials, like the Liberty Insurance commerical when they sing liberty.... liberty...... liberty, and a local Lowel The Hammer Stanley commercial when the man says he'll HAMMER, he also howls at the old 1960's Perry Mason opening and closing theme music, our driveway alert, and more. None of those things are in the same key or pitch.

I had a large (110 lbs) dominant German Shepherd. He was male dog aggressive, not out of fear, but because he need to be dominant whenever he was around other male dogs. He never backed down from any other dog, no matter how much bigger it was, so I always had to keep alert. Female dogs were a different story. Around female dogs he would non-stop attempt to have sex with them, whether or not they were in heat. A female dog could rebut his advances aggressively and he would never ever fight back. He would continuosly attempt to mount her. And whenever any female human was around that was menstruating he would go over to her and shove his nose completely into her crotch. I had professionally trained him for obedience so as long as I was around he would listen very well and obey, but you could see he was like a 1,000 HP race car waiting for the green light. Despite all the challenges of having him, he was the best friend I ever had and I still miss him very much.

My previous dog NEVER sniffed peoples bums, but sniffed their feet and hands. My mums new pup, sniffs other people's bums, but for some reason, she bites my feet, hands and even my face, which is why I dint visit very often. Our previous dog- Trixi, was an amazing dog, well behaved, quick to learn, well mannered, but the new one- same breed, just completely the opposite of what Trixi was.

Thanks for all these answers to things I have been meaning to look it up. This will be very useful with my 2 Lasoaphsos that I adopted. They are both female Bandit and Bella. They were so shy and scared of people but it didn’t take long until they were spoiled. Janice

Dogs poop along the N - S axis? How and Why? Do they have a built in compass? Is it to leave a trail like marking a map?

@@davidarmillie4226 yes, weird. I was thinking, the gender make this difference (female - back, male-face), but third dog (male) always turns to face the wind... (male are the same breed) And they do this also in the back yard, not only on walks... have no idea why 🤣. Maybe I adopted 'exceptional examples' (all rescued from kill shelters)

Dogs can also press their head against you or the chair you're sitting on, because they simply are relaxed and wants cuddles. We've had a few dogs doing this, and they do this before they lay down, but only if you rub their head and neck first. I guess pressing their heads against you just feels good, and the follow-up of rubs will be that last thing they need before they drop down beside you, happy and content. So all head-against-something isn't all bad, if it's a person nearby they want affection from.
