Solo que is often painful, but then you get that random wild game where the killer swears you're a SWIF but it's really 4 randoms that are super aware and focused. I love those games. ^.^

SoloQ turns DBD into a real survival-horror.

These types of videos are like comfort food for me because I watched a lot of similar compilations from this channel in some really rough times of my life . Thanks for the upload Otz :)

Sometimes you gotta love how Otz can immediately deduce most perks someone has by meeting them once.

Brother, it was basement trapper, he successfully got a second free hook because of it, where was the margin of error? The issue I have is that the second free hook happened in the first place, placing the traps around basement is as easy as holding m1 on a generator. Let's talk about making trappers traps not trigger on recently unhooked survivors and make them more impactful instead of kicking a horse when it's down like so many toxic players do.

@@Sean-ex9ip The only ones with power fantasies are the survivors, because they're the ones standing around waiting to be chased, and tbagging at pallets and in the exits. In solo, and sometimes with killer, it can be possible to feel that power, but only when your opponents are already doing very poorly, for whatever reason. SWF has that power fantasy on command, whenever they want, except maybe against PC Blight. We find that chases which don't result in getting a survivor out of the game are a huge time waste, and the killer's always on the back foot from the start because of time, so the only way to curtail that is to tunnel. Chases which result in just an injure or just a slug don't mean anything, because survivors can heal in 16 seconds or less after a 45+ second chase, while also cranking out 1 gen per minute.

It's a different kind of feeling when you just sit down at the table and see a new 40 min video dropped by otz

I've gotta say, kudos for the research put into this one. With the ever-increasing rise in paywalls, it can be a real pain to find publicly accessible fictitious Harvard studies to back yourself up

Otz: "People get mad at experienced players when they dont play perfect" Also Otz: Walks straight into a trap, fails a wiggle skill check, then runs staight into a second trap In the business, we call it foreshadowing

Solo queue for me used to be so fun I loved being paired with randoms and actually have fun beating the match together. Now it's just been a streak of fails or hatch escapes and that's rough :/

29:58 Bad take, Otz is a good teacher. As much as I love watching him play killer. I’m a survivor main and suck ass. Trying to learn from the way he plays is significantly easier than most streamers. He actively talks about what’s going on, what to be aware of when going against killers or being in a chase. Also, it’s really nice getting a change of pace from his content

solo during the day is a death sentence. Everyone is immersed and the killers know so they bring gen slow and aura reading.

I keep saying to myself and sometimes to them, "You guys can't just stand around and do nothing. You have to contribute somehow." I can't imagine bringing gen regression and expecting much, because the survivors I face are insane, but these teammates seriously let the killer have max value on all of that. If you're not giving killers downs constantly, Pain Res and Pop really don't do anything.

@@Nikkibuh What he might be getting at is he knows that at top level, those kinds of perks are jokes and don't really matter because they don't help with chase. So knowing that they're going against trash solos, they're cocky enough to run builds like that.

Considering I've played almost exclusively solo-queue on the survivor side of this game, that Harvard study suggests I should have died in 2020.

Solo que is the true essence of the game. Trusting these other random survivors that you've never met before to complete a common goal. If the game wanted communication, it would be in the base game. But the lack of verbal communication is what makes the end result with good teamwork, that much better of an experience.

Absolutely not surprising that not a single one of those games is against a nurse or blight. Props to the lads that play fun killers!

I remember this one time I was playing DayZ and I got into a very unexpected gunfight whilst looting. The second I saw the guy raise his gun, a shock of adrenaline went into my body and my heart started beating out of my chest and I just ran. I never thought a survival game would give me an adrenaline rush but here we are. The video title just reminded me of that to be honest :P

As a soloq survivor, I can usually coordinate pretty well for a soloq, in fact we had some amazing teamwork against a huntress (one of the teammates was a TTV) and it was pretty fun.
