Depends on what you prefer in my opinion, Dark Days definitely has a longer and more intense build-up before the breakdown hits you, while Old Ghosts/New Regrets just hits you right in the face with the first breakdown

Chasm Frazier a little while back with the beginning of the new decade, Aaron Pauley (former vocalist of Jamie’s Elsewhere and new vocalist of Of Mice & Men) wrote on his Instagram about how much he loved Jamie’s Elsewhere and he really misses it and vaguely and ominously alludes to a comeback tour!! It’s not for sure, but he somewhat pointed at it to come at some point :)

I honestly don't know how there was no Bring Me The Horizon in 2013, but the fact that they made it in 2019 is quite funny.. Don't think anyone would have predicted that a few months ago. Surprised that A Day To Remember - Exposed wasn't included in 2016 because that breakdown was sick! Glad to see INK make an appearance.

Daniel Vega None of these band listed on here even compare to ABR, I am a fan of most of these bands, but ABR has some very interesting breakdowns as well as just songs, especially from their recent album phantom anthem. as you said they do some weird rhythm breakdowns, that most of these bands can not comprehend haha. can’t wait for new ABR this year

Punisher has the greatest breakdown of all time

What I find interesting is how the trend for breakdowns has changed in 10 years. At the beginning of 2010, all breakdowns were quite fast and were often played with a lead or synth in the background. But at the end of 2019, the breakdown works more like a groove riff that has been integrated with the song, carrying the melody and the groove by itself.

Nick, I discovered this video a year ago. This video is probably the main reason I am into metal now. Thank you for dang near changing my life!

I don't listen to a lot of core but Parkway Drive - Dark Days has my favourite breakdown. Makes me want to mosh even when I'm by myself. Also happens to be from this decade.

They are surely one of the most under rated progressive djent, ambient metal bands out there now... Looking forward to see some of their covers by you. Meanwhile keep rocking!

Patrick-P _Gibson-G dude schecter makes some amazing 7 strings def my go to. I have the Omen-7 myself. With Ernie Ball strings it plays so nice.

Honestly a good list i wish there were less 0's and more actual notes (shadow of intent, cheslea grin, motionless in white, lorna shore)

@@Ricky-on3vn A slow and heavy part, typically succeeding a faster and/or lighter part. Doesn't have to be all stuttered 0's. Some bands used that for their breakdowns, and now we have a bunch of bands that have a 2 or 3 different breakdowns that they copy and paste into all of their songs
