For those of you debating: Yes, we really did buy this WRX in Ontario for $5,000. It was a screamin deal, and we jumped on it very fast when it popped up. In fact we had people calling us the evening we bought it to offer to buy it off of us for more than we paid. Is it rare to find one for this much? Yes. Is it possible? Yes. Don't forget that after we bought it we needed to work on it to get it road legal. Needed a CV Axle, a handbrake rebuild, a new airbag etc. (Also the alternator is going and the other CV axle is pooched), But either way it was an amazing deal, and it's possible to find them this cheap. In fact there is another video on this channel from a while ago with an unmodified Bugeye WRX that was purchased for $6,000. So keep your eyes open! Happy hunting and thanks for watching!

Running yes, there is rust (rear wheel well spotted in the video), issues he described, and obviously took some snow hits up front since the plastic oil pan cover is damaged. This is also where the subframe is known to rust. Still though, 5k without a leaking head gasket and a working turbo is solid in my book.

I personally found it very hard to lose rear traction in my 2011 or 2015 WRX on dry roads. The 11 WRX open diff was definitely noticable in the snow with traction control off. The 15 has "trac" mode which let's you have stability control with no traction control which still gives you brake vectoring which is nice.

My Fiesta ST has rev hold as well, and it's slightly annoying. However I have figured out that if you don't let of the throttle completely (leave a light pressure) it will trip the throttle sensor enough to not hold revs, but not enough to actually rev the engine, and the RPM will drop. So as I shift, I'll leave my foot on the gas and the revs will drop between gears. It's a wierd hack, but it works.

Very nice video, very nice cars! But boy am I tired of hearing the WRX needs a refresh. I for once think it does not. If you want a car that doesn't feel like a WRX, there are plenty other cars out there. Don't understand why every car reviewer wants the WRX to become something other than what it is.

A refresh isn't the same as asking for a different car. All it takes is getting out of this new WRX (which is literally unchanged since 2015) and jumping in another 2019 car to realize how much it needs an update. Update, not change.

I was fully convinced the old one would get the nod until the end. All of the Hawkeye's issues just add to the character, while the issues with the Raiu are just annoying. And car enthusiasts tend to prefer older models because they claim to be more pure. Personally, working on an old, used car sounds like a headache.

Gweat job. Special edition isn't really worth it since it's not that different from a regular performance pack WRX with a short throw shifter(which still isn't short enough for my liking, especially after S2000). My 2018 is also on X-Ice tires, not liking them at higher speeds at all, there's no stability or confidence, too floaty; they are a lot quieter than stock tires though.

Huge ups just for the crossover intro. RCR is a great auto culture show, not in the same style as you guys, but still damn good. I do love brand new, modern cars, straight off the lot, but I am a huge advocate of buying on the secondary market. An example: I drive a second hand, gently used Chevy. It's got a bit of wear and tear, the kind you get with age, but I hunted and searched and got a really good deal. I paid in full, and it's mine, the bank can't come and take it. In comparison, I have coworkers with brand new vehicles that will be paying through the teeth for the next five years or so, and if they miss a payment or two the bank comes and takes their wheels away. And while they sweat and worry about the economy and count the days between paycheques, I'm leisurely setting aside money so that when the time comes I can walk into a dealership and drive out with no hassle. That's why I love Throttle House and Regular Car Reviews, they appeal to my practicality, and inform my ambitions.

Had myself a 04’ 2.0 for almost 8 years and absolutely loved it! Snow, street, anywhere! They really went down hill after that in my opinion! There is a reason Ken Block went to Ford and I first hand agree! The Focus Rs for price and whp there is no comparison! Even the 2wd Focus ST just left my WRX behind in the past! Subaru need to go back to the way it was when they did not even offer a radio in the STI! Absolutely a rally car offered to the public! Leave the luxury to the other companies and give us a machine again instead of this crap you are pushing now for way to much money! Just ask Ken! And they keep callin it the big eye which ended in 03’ that’s the Eyebrow is or the Hawkeye! Get it straight! Bug eyes have round headlights and shortback seats!

Ken left Subaru not because of a problem with Subaru, but because his ultimate goal was to rally for Audi. Your whole arguement based around ken leaving for ford is silly at best.
