2 plumbers same city, you can target if you know if they have something unique. They serve different purposes.

I find Saas/Digital Products and the Construction Niche both sensible and interesting. Would it be a good idea to choose both? Services being Websites, Digital Marketing and Automation etc. . Thanks.

Funny, yesterday evening I gave some thought to this and decided that I needed to address a niche market and have decided to do so going forward. I have read some of the comments about addressing a broader market etc, and how it may not be feasible. Some of my own experience from having been the CEO of larger companies has given me the insight that being good at a smaller market is better than being half assed at more services. You generally lose money by being half assed at something and generally make money when you are good at what you do. Just some free advice......stay in your lane!!

Awesome tips. You missed one. You can also niche down as a new business by offering either a bundled solution to small businesses at a lower rate or specialized service to a somewhat larger business at a higher rate.

Wow, just as I thought I had niched down already by serving a specific industry then this! I think I would have to take out a business loan if i were to be this specific as it will take a much longer time to secure the right type of clients at this level of niching down.

To clarify, these are 4 different options and are not meant for you to combine all of them. You can combine 2 options as I gave an example of. Have you tried to go more specific and that has been your experience or are you assuming that would be the case? If you already have your niche and it's working for you...stick with it!!

​@@Portableentrepreneur don't get me wrong. I truly believe niching down as a way to get better clients. I just think as a one-man show, it is harder to market yourself at this level of niche. I have moved to serving home services companies rather than small businesses in general and I am yet to measure the results. However, I now have a target to market my services to. I have yet to rank my site for this specific niche, so, I will let you know in about 3 months (thank you for the 1 month free trial of SEMRush).

I completely get it. It was just me when I first did this too. Home services is still quite broad so that may be something to consider but you're definitely moving in the right direction and taking action!

​@@Portableentrepreneur I've noticed a few companies that serve SEO only to HVAC, roofers, etc. I think as I work with the different sub-categories, I will find the preference. Thank you for the inspiration! I will continue to apply all I learn from you and your courses.
