Before the video I was looking at MSI's Godlike Gaming, ASRock's Fatal1ty Z370 Professional Gaming i7, and Gigabyte Auros, and you helped save me additional time by sharing your (time-consuming) research and testing. 2016 my 3770k asus maximus v gene system fried. Was gutted but didnt go out and build right away, partially due to money and also I saw what was coming with Ryzen. Ive since waited till the end of the year, spending many a day and many a night theory building systems, watching and reading reviews and pouring over spec sheets. I'm ready early 2018 to build and I'm just waiting for RAM prices to drop as I will be building a monster $4000+ pc and that will include a 1440p 140hz ultrawide, as for motherboard I've decided on the Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7. The 3 m.2 slots, the auto 5ghz overclock and the looks sold me. So ill be delidding a 8700k with NZXT X62 cooler, watercooled 1080ti and 2 nvme drives with room for another later as it will be a gaming monster and why the hell not. All in the Thermaltake View 71 with all dat RGB! I'm even getting the glass engraved with some wolverine images to personalize, not licenced images of course. Less so the harware panel but the back and front. Never built a RGB system before, as silence has been my previous priority but this time I want a show pony and with that vertical GPU mount and the GPU rad on the rear with the cpu rad at the top and all other fans on intake that should provide a positive case pressure to some degree. Watching this im pretty happy with my choice of board and brand as Ive not built on a gigabyte board since the P55-UD4P and I didn't mind that board so much but yeah that was 2 builds ago. This next pc will be a 5yr+ build bar updating the gfx in 2 yrs. Cheers Brian as your vids have helped somewhat along with all the other usual suspects and sites. Patience pays off, will take me a few months and a lot of handing over that hard earned cash. Will all be worth it in the end.

Having such trouble picking motherboard for i7 (probably non k but you never know) one of the things my current x58 motherboard has is that debug led that doubles as a temp read out and I LOVE that feature it’s a priority for me... a lot of boards often overlook listing as a selling point. For me it’s asrock gaming k6 / Taichi (getting expensive at 300+ cdn) at 250$ it seems to be either asrock gaming k6 or gaming m5 (only one with debug led and I don’t know if they do temp as I hope) at 300+ Asus Maximus vs tai chi

I wish I knew what Vcore I am offsetting for! But it seems automatic? Anyway I am TOTALLY lost with Vcore Offset! And am running automatic as a result currently... I am HOPING that soon enough people will have entire threads devoted to OCing on the Z370 platform with Coffee lake.. Coming from Sandy Bridge - I am pretty well lost with the MYRIAD new voltage settings that did not exist with SB!

LOL msi is the worst brand.
Very happy with my Asus Z370E 8700k 5.1 ghz no problems. Stable with good temps. My fourth home built system with Asus motherboards. Tend to be a bit more expensive but willing to pay the premium for the features and reliability I have seen every time.

Are you using a custom cooler?
You should totally do the same thing for the X370 for AMD between the Asrock Taichi vs Asus Crosshair XI Hero
Reaqlly nice and detailed review
How did you not meassure any kind of issues on the Gigabytes Ultra gamings VRM´s, when all orther sites has messured that issue, even running the board 100% stock ?
Hey. Great review!! Is it possible to share your settings of the aorus OC at 5ghz. I am running auto oc for the moment. There are way too many settings for me to do a Manual oc to 5Ghz. Thanks!!
Best intro music yet
Great video as always! I won't be buying Asus Mobo's again 170z had bent pins from factory "not covered under warranty" shop I got it from fixed it thankfully.
Good vid, testing boards would have to be one of the most pain in the arse, time consuming comparisons to undertake.
I got ASRock Z370 EXTREME 4 with 8600K MSI air cooler and rocking 5ghz no problems
Just a bit if info the MSI Gaming Pro Carbon does allow you to update the bios from the internet, it just gets initiated from an app in the desktop. I had to use it because i couldn't get it to update of USB for some reason.
Hello, quick question: How do you set your Dr. Debug led to read temperatures on the Asrock Z370? Mine only read post codes, manual has no information on that and online no one seems to know. Appreciate the help.
Could you do a seperate video on power phases and what you should be looking for OC? Like a 10+1 powerphase mobo vs a 8+2 mobo?
Maybe you could do a review of the lower priced Z370 motherboards and compare them.
Im planning to get one of these.. but dont plan on manual overclocking. Might go for the aorus. within my budget also.
Wait how come other reviewers show the Z370 Ultra Gaming having VRM temp problems?

Z370s were having problems with reporting voltages and there were real weird up and downs in place (i mean the asrock board still misreports greatly in aida for example). Though the aorus board had no problems when I locked my chip in at 1.34v and it remained pretty stable.
Heck yeah Brian! Love you. Thanks for the video i was looking for!!
loved the music
Please do a review on the EVGA Z370 when they launch
My two cents the Asrock Z370 Extreme4 is a good all around board as well. Good Price-point and features for $150 bucks!! Also the Taichi is a good middle ground between Extreme 4 and the Fatality Pro. Do review on the Extreme 4 please!

Ryan Davies exact same specs are my 4k machine 🤔👌
Having such trouble picking motherboard for i7 (probably non k but you never know) one of the things my current x58 motherboard has is that debug led that doubles as a temp read out and I LOVE that feature it’s a priority for me... a lot of boards often overlook listing as a selling point. For me it’s asrock gaming k6 / Taichi (getting expensive at 300+ cdn) at 250$ it seems to be either asrock gaming k6 or gaming m5 (only one with debug led and I don’t know if they do temp as I hope) at 300+ Asus Maximus vs tai chi
I ve already bought carbon as you mestioned on the last video!
Very awesome! Can you do the same but with x370 chipset?
I've got the Z370 Auros Gaming 7 paired with a 8700K. Literally God Tier!
Hi Bryan I would love to see cpu overclocking guide on each platform. specially older vs new ones. lga 775,lga 1366, lga 1155 etc and the new. go through each settings and explain what settings are what....what to look for beside temps and voltages. Ram tuning etc. i know its a lot of work but thats why we love you :) your older overclocking videos are short and quick, too much pause and play for us :(

thanks, it was good but I could use it if knew all these main boards well and install and worked with all of them but I don't know any of them, if you had a fast name of each of these boards in 4 colors and you put it on when you talk about that board it could be a good help, there is as well need for a written resume chart at end of video which write weak/strength points of each board. don't fear anything mistaken with commercial
Your like a breath of fresh air for those of us that use PCs for audio ya know that bry ;) GG

Your looking great bro
@Tech YES City would you ever think about doing a Vid for the Aussie subscribers where you can buy replacement cables for a modular PSU aka Corsair, Thermaltake ect.. Also if there is a place in Australia where you can buy connectors, cables, pins and sleeving to mod your own cables .. as doing a google search sends you to sites in the states or places that ship / based out of HongKong and there seems to be nothing on flea-bay unless you want to buy out of the states
i went with the MSi and it rocks
The new intro lmao
before I begin watching thank u brian
A knock on door after clicked this video and bam Newegg delivery, I feel lucky!
I use msi z370 gaming plus and i am pretty happy
u r awsm one
Hey, Bryan. Greetings from 🇭🇷. Can you comment on other reviews of Gigabyte Z370 ultra gaming vrm temps that go over 100 Celsius? I find quite a few of those.
if i want to do some gaming with some triple A titles, streaming, and some light video editing, which processor would you suggest, the I5 8600K, the I5 9600k, or the i7 8700k and what motherboard would you pair it up to?
Should i get the ASUS Z370 E or not? Would i go wrong with it?
Would have loved to see EVGA added to the mix especially their micro version
difference between msi z370-a pro and msi z370 oc pro?
Hey Brian I just got a 8700k with an Asus z370-f board. Delidded with liquid ultra and a Corsair h110 I’m getting temperatures going into the 90s and crashing in blender. Not sure what I can do to reduce temps?
Hey bryan! What cpu, mobo and ram combo would you recommend for around 300 USD?
For the MSI board you need to turn on enhanced turbo, leave the voltage on auto and you will get an instant 4,7 Ghz on all cores. It is easy you just missed that.
Just bought the z370e, I want to overclock and water cool should I be fine with this motherboard or is there a better one for this?
msi z370 gaming pro carbon vs asrock z370 extreme4? which one u will choose?
I have a MSI mobo for my 1700, and the game boost auto overclock only goes up 400 Mhz. I guess it all depends on the processor, how much overclock it applies.
Which should I buy? Asrock Z370 Fatal1ty Gaming K6 or Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming for i7 8700K? There is no Asrock Z370 Fatal1ty Gaming i7 product in my country. Thanks before & Good Luck
Also looking for a place where I can actively converse with an expert on these parts.
Only one thing you left out my favorite all around best motherboard for Z370 and the one I own: ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wifi AC)
Could you review the msi z370i gaming pro carbon ac? You dont have to by any means if you dont want to or dont have the time for it
One totally (not so) random question, do any of these motherboards have Thunderbolt implementation on their Type-C?
+Tech YES City Bryan, could you maybe, PLEASE do a video on how to properly setup a Vcore Offset With your ASRock Z370 Every time I try it, it always ends up either sending in WAY too much voltage, or turns DOWN Vcore way too much to remain stable...
