Thanks Bryan, first video of yours I've seen, and it was very helpful. Before the video I was looking at MSI's Godlike Gaming, ASRock's Fatal1ty Z370 Professional Gaming i7, and Gigabyte Auros, and you helped save me additional time by sharing your (time-consuming) research and testing. Thank you thank you... I like that you referred to the Taichi in comparison to the Fatal1ty board too, b/c I was also looking at that. My own (quick) analysis of those two (ASRock) boards revealed that the Fatal1ty board not only has the 10G LAN, but 3 LAN ports vs 2 on Taichi, as well as the Ultra USB power (on 2 of the USB ports), and the Fatal1ty Mouse Port (USB 3.1 Gen1). Now all I have to do is decide if those features are worth paying a little extra for. I'll be sure to support you in the future.

That intro song will be in my head for the next few months. Thanks for that and for the explanation because I was looking to buy the Asus z370 but when I saw that MSI was cheaper in my area,I bought it because of the temperatures. My 8600k will be nice and cool with an AIO cooler + the motherboard,I don't bother about overclocking it to 5ghz,it's running with 4.7ghz with 1.3 volts. Thanks again for the advice.

Not gonna lie, I'm a huge fan of Asrock MoBo's since z77 extreme4 board. They never failed me(I have z77, z97, z170 and z270) and overclocking is super easy on their boards and bios upgrades were always VERY stable. However, esthetically, Asus boards always got my attention. ROG series looks GORGEOUS.

Z370s were having problems with reporting voltages and there were real weird up and downs in place (i mean the asrock board still misreports greatly in aida for example). Though the aorus board had no problems when I locked my chip in at 1.34v and it remained pretty stable.

2016 my 3770k asus maximus v gene system fried. Was gutted but didnt go out and build right away, partially due to money and also I saw what was coming with Ryzen. Ive since waited till the end of the year, spending many a day and many a night theory building systems, watching and reading reviews and pouring over spec sheets. I'm ready early 2018 to build and I'm just waiting for RAM prices to drop as I will be building a monster $4000+ pc and that will include a 1440p 140hz ultrawide, as for motherboard I've decided on the Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7. The 3 m.2 slots, the auto 5ghz overclock and the looks sold me. So ill be delidding a 8700k with NZXT X62 cooler, watercooled 1080ti and 2 nvme drives with room for another later as it will be a gaming monster and why the hell not. All in the Thermaltake View 71 with all dat RGB! I'm even getting the glass engraved with some wolverine images to personalize, not licenced images of course. Less so the harware panel but the back and front. Never built a RGB system before, as silence has been my previous priority but this time I want a show pony and with that vertical GPU mount and the GPU rad on the rear with the cpu rad at the top and all other fans on intake that should provide a positive case pressure to some degree. Watching this im pretty happy with my choice of board and brand as Ive not built on a gigabyte board since the P55-UD4P and I didn't mind that board so much but yeah that was 2 builds ago. This next pc will be a 5yr+ build bar updating the gfx in 2 yrs. Cheers Brian as your vids have helped somewhat along with all the other usual suspects and sites. Patience pays off, will take me a few months and a lot of handing over that hard earned cash. Will all be worth it in the end.

Having such trouble picking motherboard for i7 (probably non k but you never know) one of the things my current x58 motherboard has is that debug led that doubles as a temp read out and I LOVE that feature it’s a priority for me... a lot of boards often overlook listing as a selling point. For me it’s asrock gaming k6 / Taichi (getting expensive at 300+ cdn) at 250$ it seems to be either asrock gaming k6 or gaming m5 (only one with debug led and I don’t know if they do temp as I hope) at 300+ Asus Maximus vs tai chi

One totally (not so) random question, do any of these motherboards have Thunderbolt implementation on their Type-C?

+Tech YES City Bryan, could you maybe, PLEASE do a video on how to properly setup a Vcore Offset With your ASRock Z370 Every time I try it, it always ends up either sending in WAY too much voltage, or turns DOWN Vcore way too much to remain stable... I wish I knew what Vcore I am offsetting for! But it seems automatic? Anyway I am TOTALLY lost with Vcore Offset! And am running automatic as a result currently... I am HOPING that soon enough people will have entire threads devoted to OCing on the Z370 platform with Coffee lake.. Coming from Sandy Bridge - I am pretty well lost with the MYRIAD new voltage settings that did not exist with SB!
