You make it all look so easy. Brilliant
This is the clearest most helpful video on urban sketching I have seen, and I've seen a lot. You are very encouraging because you break down the process into manageable steps. I love the freedom to make mistakes and not have a perfect line. Watercolour washes are such fun. Thank you!
I love that you chose a really difficult subject to explain this, there's so much detail in that building it's crazy ❤✨

Haha yea it was crazy!😊
So wonderful watching you break down such a complex building, then adding color in a simple yet meaningful strokes. My class assignment this week is to do an urban sketch of the Museum d’Orsay. Your video has helped me create a roadmap for my own work. Thank you so much!

Glad you liked the shape break down!
Amazing painting !! I love the loose style and the colors, well done !! 👌😍❤️🖌️🎨🖋️
This video was extremely helpful! Drawing the building wasn’t an issue for me, even though my method was more of a basic shapes and then detail way. But how to add color…I love that you showed how to do that! Thank you so much, and if you’re able to, I’d love more how to add color tutorials on pretty much every medium you’re willing to use!

i just started US and i think this video is very useful. i love the quirky style and the way you break down a complicated building into details in order to make it easier to draw. Thank you very much for this instruction video! Very inspiring!
@SketchingScottie This is quite a logical approach to sketching which forces us to think (plan) before jumping in. I may have seen the sequence slightly different in other videos. Thank you for sharing these tips !

I'm trying to reduce my level of detail in line work and painting. Great stuff!
Nice technique for simplifying the sketches. I tend to do to much detail from the start. This tutorial inspires me in my approach and I think it'll help me to find me own style along the way. Greetz from the 🇳🇱

Great :)
Thanks for showing your process w a photo. Step 2 with the dots will help me. My picture is always going off the page. But I’m wondering - how do you block out the picture when you are outside looking at a real building and cannot measure dots on a photo?
@SketchingScottie

You can still use dots to plan your sketch outside. For example you could look for important points like height and width of the building and mark those dots on the page to give you a general guide. I find it helps to have some points to aim for 👍🏼
hiya scottie
Whenever he starts measuring dots my adhd kicks in and I can’t seem to follow instructions for the life of me. Then I start to crumble up my crappy drawing lol
