I doubt there were any actual black masses happening, that's more than likely just propaganda or maybe something Eupraxia said that was wilfully taken out of context by Henry's enemies (or maybe her making it up to exact just revenge against the person who mistreated her in the only way she could). But yes, being kidnapped, forced to marry, and being locked up and regularly "visited" by the guy who kidnapped her, especially after she had already chosen the life of a nun, must have been horrible and traumatic for her.

Yes, I was pointing out that what she endured was certainly horrible and traumatising for her, what else do you want me to say? And I didn't mean "making it up" in regards to the Black Masses in the negative sense, as I said, if she did, then it was nothing but her *just revenge* (as I said) against the person who inflicted those things on her. I still think the Black Masses are unlikely simply because it would have been political suicide for a monarch from that time period, not in any way to defend Henry or make him seem any less evil. @@Angel-ts8rc

On the Catholic side, close relatives needed a Papal dispensation to marry. Even royals. It was usually given. I don’t think Protestants had any such thing though. At least in religious law. So anyway, they knew consanguinity caused problems since it was against canon law.

My great aunt had 3 Standard Poodles. They were so vicious that no one dared to approach their owner when they were in the same room as her. We nicked name them the hounds of hell.

It's **marginally possible that this was true and being described poorly by early medicine or modern translations, because he did die of renal failure (kidneys). But even then, NO blood? I personally have started to think that maybe the autopsy was one last tool of slander against him by his political enemies, the Inquisition in particular.
