4 Signs You Possibly Have A Failed Knee Replacement

Problems after knee replacement surgery come all the time. It does not always mean you have a completely failed knee replacement though.
It more likely means that you’re starting to head in that direction, but you still have a chance at getting back on track so you can get back to normal.
These signs of a failing knee replacement must be compared with what the normal experience for someone recovering from a knee replacement should expect. Learn more about that in this video:

Thank you for your 28 day therapy session for my knee replacement l had 11 years ago at 60 years old. But after three days even with using it very lightly, my right knee was in trouble. But you tot me about the nerve that gets cut when a knee is replaced. I thank you so much for being so honest. After11 years and talking to five surgens, not one was honest enough to say it might be the nerve that gets cut. I now have an appointment with a knee Dr. that will treat the nerve.❤

I've recently read that some failures are due to allergic reaction to the implant materials. Titanium actually does have some nickel impurities, some have sensitive to the plastic or even the bone cement. Granted, it's not a large percent. Yet those that are allergic will have chronic inflammation, stiffness some even more chronic pain.

There’s no Resurgery after TKR and only amputation so we should be careful to the maximum extent as it’s the last operation of knee and satisfaction level is only 65 percent and I can say it with confidence as I am a b/l TKR pt since may 2015.jai hind

I had both TKR done in 2018 and worried because one is giving me some problems. Listening to your clear calm advice is a real comfort and I realise I've just overdone a yoga move and the old adage no pain no gain isn't necessarily true. Thankyou

I had both my knees replaced in March 2021 in India.. I started doing yoga (which i used to do for the past 15 years) with many adjustments and accessories. Still i am scared and anxious about whether its right and keep looking for a genuine video about what exercises and how they should be done.

I had my right one done 4 years ago.. needed second surgery after 6 months and it’s now worse than it was before I got it done. They offered me another operation saying it’s was extremely risky with a 50/50 chance of it working…. I’ve decided I have to accept my condition and pain and am going down the path of pain management through psychotherapy which I have to with another few months for..

1 had a revision gone bad in 2019. It got infected. The day after I came home. It's been 4 years & I can not walk without 24/7 pain. If I had to do over, I would of gone with allograft meniscus implant then a total knee. I have fallen 9 times since 2019. It's now August 2023. No one want to investigate why!

Wish I could send you a picture. I had some weird dry pus come out of a pimple like thing. My surgeon squeezed some out, gave me an RX for antibiotics but seemed certain that it was not a problem. I put off taking the antibiotic to wait and see because of pain meds….since it was not going away my PT guy told me to take the antibiotics. The las PT I had left me with a limp and more pain than ordinary. I am post surgery 3 months. The pimple like thing is sore if I press on it. I sure would like your feedback.

My mother has just undergone revision knee replacement surgery. Just after two days coming back home from the hospital , Fluid discharge started from the incision site and dressing became a daily task. We consulted the treating surgeon. He gave antibiotic ( colistin)intra articular and gave ozzing fluid samples for the culture investigation. Culture report revealed bacterial infection and the organisms isolated is Entrobactor cloeca complex, which was detected earlier after first prosthetic joint implementation. My mother doesn't have any symptoms like fever, chills, pain etc. Only the issue of ozzing was there, which is stopped after intra articular antibiotic infusion. No antibiotic is given now because antibiotic causes loss of appetite, abdominal discomfort, weakness. So what should I do . Should I start culture appropriate antibiotics?

Hi doc, my sister is suffering from very severe chondromalacia (she barely walks with support) and has decided to not get any injections or anything... She is just taking supplements and physical therapy for past five months. She is 32... I'm worried about her... Is she going on the right track will she be ok or shout I insist her to take PRP or arthroscopic surgery...?

  • @epmanualphysicaltherapy

Hey Hindustan Meri Jaan! Sorry to hear about your sister suffering for the past 5 months :-( Physical therapy often works the quad muscles when it comes to chondromalacia conditions. That usually makes the problem worse. She would need to focus on strengthening her glutes and avoiding strengthening the quads. If she has been working on the glutes consistently, then she should consider PRP or talking to a surgeon as a next step. Her knee cartilage may be too injured if she cannot get better by doing glute exercises. In the mean time, share this video playlist with her: "Knee Cap Pain Help" kzread.info/head/PLJVIPiFvv1mYRotMXuS6F94UZkGAIxsb2

@@sherryanderson1770 No, I decided to go with an Arthrosmid injection instead. It's a new type of hydrogel available in Europe (but not in America yet, I think). It includes a kind of polymer that stays in your body permanently. Effects seem to last several years and it appears to work in 70% of people. Expensive though at €2,500 per knee, but less risky than a knee op for me. I do sympathise with you!

@@lesleycoward3078 Is the injection working? Nice that you had an alternative. I have so many people that are pressuring me to have the surgery. They just don't get it that there are bad outcomes too. My sisters first surgeon didn't put the correct size appliance in so she had to have a revision done. I remember the horrific pain she was in. It's a traumatic surgery to have especially when there's a good chance your pain won't be controlled. I wish you all the best and hope the injection works for you! If it were here in the States I would do that over the op. Take care!

I can't take anti-inflammatories or steroids and have reduced circulation in my legs too, so worried about healing. Think I'd rather stick with my knees as they are than take such a risk!
