Haha! On a side note, I am going to be taking a metal fab class at school next semester and I have previously have taken several welding classes. So I want to build a Go-kart! But I have no clue how to design one. What would you recommend for me to do?

Just a thought. Make enough room in the engine "bay" area to place the vtwin if u get tired of the 420cc. Yes I know it's for kids but just in case cuz u can always chop and move back the drivers section of need be.

Red Beard's Garage really? that's cool man. and you're correct, building stuff is addictive. if it weren't for my myopic nerves being damaged, I'd love welding. but, my eyes do not adjust quick enough to the changing light to dark with the mask on. so, I stress, to anyone who reads this, use eye protection. keep up the awesome work.

You can take mirrored Lexan and heat and bend it to fit in your headlight hole and then drill holes for each LED and cover the front with a clear piece of Lexan. Build your own CTS headlights. Cheaper way is to use chrome spray paint instaed of mirrored lexan

Hey redbeard, I don't know if you have watched CarsAndCameras but they did a build with a 420cc on a drift trike. They also put EFI on it. They discovered that the charging system for the 420 was not sufficient to keep the battery charged, even with the small draw of the EFI. I think this is something that you need to consider if you put a winch, lights, and anything else on this beast. Just a thought that might be overlooked but it can create some major problems. Have a good one -Spencer

Good job man, it's coming together great! I've been subd for a bit but can't recall- is this the first you've built from scratch? I'm really curious what you've got up your sleeve for suspension too! One last question.. I assume you like them seeing as you own two.. What do you think of the porter cable grinder? It took me like 10 years of small time use to finally get tired of my Cummins tools $14 grinder (which really really sucks.. The arbor is bent.) and bought a dewilt for a primary grinder... But like you, I grow awful tired of switching wheels so I'm looking at picking up a couple extras. The porter was actually my number one pick until I used my brothers dewilt and decided to make that my primary. Hard to argue with 11 ampers in a 4.5" grinder... Thanks man! Edit: forgot. You could throw in a little time lapse of the cuts if you wanted..

Yeah this is the first time building one from scratch, the suspension will be like a yerf dogg in the rear and have small a arms in the front. I love the porter cable grinder. Hello, my name is Demetrius, my first question is I have a V twin predator engine and I have two dual pz27mm 200cc carb and would it work for it?? I am just putting Straight intake pipes on each side to get more hp?

You may need more than that. I would think that dual 32mm would be a better match but then again I could be wrong. All you can do is try it. Im doing the same set up on my v twin Kohler engine and I have been wondering what size to go with. I was going to try a dual 32mm most likely.

Red Beard's Garage you think I can get it to go up to 80 mph with my weight as weighting 320 pounds??

It all depends on how you gear it. If you want to achieve 80mph it will be geared so high it isn't going to take off worth a poop but you can get to it
