I am extremely ruthless when shopping at Homegoods and Target. The item has to be perfect for it to be purchased. I strive for a very curated and intentional look when decorating which means every piece has to add to the space not just be a filler. I follow four rules to ensure I am not just grabbing everything at a lower price point. The four rules are keep it simple, watch the small, nothing shiny and watch out for the standard.
