@@SkywalkerExpress No. I found it annoying from the first time I heard it. The musical choices are strange. The sudden jumps from an even tone to a sky high shriek to an ultra low vocal dip are painful to listen to, but I guess not for everyone. The 'ooh ooh ooooh ooh' annoys me too, and also the slow tempo. 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' is a song that was good at the time but I can't listen to anymore because it's overused, but this song I've hated forever.

Linda Perry is one of the most underrated singers of the last 30 years, imo. Obviously a great songwriter as well.
Was at a time in my life of being an addicted to Heroin and a very low , low point in my life, in and out of jail, but now almost 45 and drug free for over 20+ years, the song speaks to me in a way now that I should never explore that point in time ever again! From what P!nk was saying in one of her iHeart interviews she was great friends with the Lead Singer, Linda Perry, but they had a falling out because Linda wouldn't stop writing songs for Christina Aguilara which P!nk does NOT like. It's really a shame when someone comes between two Old Friends and an ultimatum is given because it rarely ends to the mutual satisfaction of all involved.

Linda Perry is not only an incredible singer and musician, she is also a highly skilled and sought after producer, and a talented, prolific song writer. She has written many other top ten hit songs for other artists. After 4 Non Blondes broke up, Linda had a rough time for a while, but after meeting, falling in love with, and marrying, Sara Gilbert (of The Rosanne Show fame), Linda managed to straighten her life around to become the music legend she is today, instead of just a one hit wonder band. Iconic for _my_ early 90's life. As was Jamiroquai Too Young To Die, No Doubt 'Don't Speak', Shaggy 'Oh Carolina', Shabba Ranks 'Mr Loverman', Jade 'Don't Walk Away', Arrested Development 'Tennessee', Sunshine Superman by Donovan, ANYTHING by Lenny Kravitz... and of course, George as always. The memories...
I was 26 when this song came out and I loved it! I learned to play it on guitar and one night when my shift was over as a cocktail waitress and the band had finished, I asked if I could use their guitar and sing. I had written a song and wanted to hear what it sounded like on a sound system. One by one the band came back to the stage and joined me (they were really good to follow me, but they were simple chords). Everyone wanted me to sing another song, so I sang What's Up with the band, too. The few people left in the bar broke out into applause and it felt so good! This song always takes me back to that night. By the way, at the time, her style was really revolutionary unless you lived in Seattle.

What a voice. Always loved this song. One of the most performed songs at Karaoke places everywhere in the world!
Thank you. You are one of the few reactors who listen to the music, and doesn’t keep talking over it, Or pausing it. I was able to enjoy one of my favourite tracks from beginning to end in your company. I’ve only discovered your channel today, glad I have. I have subscribed and am now looking to see what else you’ve listened to. If you have time, I’d love to see you react to Eva Cassidy ‘Songbird’… one of the most beautiful songs sung by one of the most beautiful voices. It seems that one has passed most reactors by. Thank you again.
A powerful, commanding voice, there's nothing quite like it. I was in college when this song came out in 1993 and used to hear it on 106.7 KROQ here in So Cal when driving home from night classes. Linda Perry reached musical immortality with this song, it defines her career. So what if it was the only hit that 4 Non-Blondes ever had, they hit a home run with this one. I recommend Jane Wiedlin "Rush Hour" (1988).
I was 14 or 15 when this came out and it was everywhere. I was in a strict household that I felt bound to by a much younger sibling who needed me, and when I was thinking about being freer by being out of the home, this came to mind. Karaoke staple.
Listened to this all the time in the 90s. Still love it.
ALWAYS loved this song. Had a crush on Linda Perry (lead), and she has a beautiful voice. Takes me back. Man, I miss the 80s and early 90s. bless you brother.
Yep! That part of the song you described is absolutely my favorite part, too! But also, yes I'm singing the chorus like I'm the only one on earth when I hear it. 😄
I've always loved this song. Linda Perry's voice is powerful and this song is amazingly written. I know every bit of this song and sing along every time its on. The song was released in 1993. I was in my twenties when this song was released and I was trying to figure out some life stuff just like she was in the song so I could really relate.

This is really fun to play on guitar!!! I have a video of my last band covering this live on my channel.
I have memories of listening to this while twirling around on a ride at the county fair when I was 10. Great song.
this song was a great song all the way around, very well constructed and executed as well as fun to listen to and play. When i was in a heavy metal band I used to play this song in jam sessions. I was and am one of those bass players that loved one type of music but enjoyed playing all types and the tuesday jam sessions we had were open jams and some were epic with songs like this. Heck we even had Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish join in from time to time to bounce new song ideas with us.
I've stepped outside n belted out "what's goin on" more than once :)
I LOVE this song. Her vocals are so powerful! Definitely one of my favorite songs of the 90's.

A complete blast from my past! Linda Perry is a woman that completely rocked the 90s. Honestly, I still listen to their album at least 3 times a week...now! Thank you for your reaction. "Morphine & Chocolate" is another song of theirs with awesome vocals.
I was in my late teens when this came out. It was during at time when I decided not to ride the public bus to high school every day and walked with my friends instead. It was a half an hour walk at least but it was never boring! Mostly because we usually sang at the top of our lungs the whole way lol. This was a favorite to sing XD
She's got pipes.
I loved this song. Back in 1993 every morning I would go to the beach in Ocean City, Nj. and as I would sit and on the beach enjoying the view of the waves crashing, the seagulls as the glided over the coastline and the skyline get brighter and change colors as the sun rose over the horizon this song would come on the radio. This song brings me back to that special place and time.
Oh wow, I love this song. It takes me right back to a troubled time in my life. I was 15 years old, my older brother had just been murdered and it put me into a downward spiral of being rebellious, running away, being mad at the world, etc. This song was popular at the time and whenever I hear it I remember what me and my family went through and how long the grieving process took. It's still not over, but with time we've gotten through it.
