4 MUST DO Mods for the Ducati Diavel V4! | Diavel V4 Series Part 1

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The new 2023 Ducati Diavel V4 now has that coveted V4 platform that is found on so many of the Ducatis that we love, like the Panigale and Streetfighter. So we had to jump on the opportunity of acquiring and modding the new Diavel V4!
And today is the start of the journey.
We have the 4 essential first mods for every Ducati Diavel V4 here, and what are they?
1. Radiator & Oil Cooler Guards
The one thing about modern sport bikes is that they come with very sticky tires, and unfortunately one of the most important pieces on the bike sits right behind the front wheel. That is the radiator and oil cooler.
The risk that it brings is that there is the possibility of a rock or debris being kicked up into the radiator and/or oil cooler. At worst, this could bring a puncture which would cause your bike to overheat, and at best, it will still do some damage that would lower the efficiency of your radiator and/or oil cooler. Which is why, over everything else even on this list, the radiator and oil cooler guards are our NUMBER 1 essential mod for every single bike.
2. TWM Quick Release Fuel Cap
Now to add some beauty and convenience, we upgrade to the TWM quick action fuel cap!
On most bikes, you need the key to unlock the fuel cap and add some fuel. The quick action system makes it a simple twist and turn, and you're good to go. No need to search for the key or fumble around turning off the bike and turning it back on.
And with the option for CNC aluminum or carbon fiber, it really upgrades the look!
3. NRC Fender Eliminator kit
Fenders on bikes are absolutely hideous, there's no question about it. And we know fender eliminators are a popular upgrade on all bikes, but we choose NRC for a reason, and that is because they look amazing, but they also take safety into account when designing their products.
You want to make sure that motorists know exactly what you are doing when you are on a bike, this means having turn signals visible on each side. And with NRC, this is something that we can count on, which is why we choose NRC for our Diavel V4!
4. Caliper Spacers
Now this is a pure aesthetic upgrade. It adds some color, but most importantly, removes the hideous yellow/amber reflectors on the brakes.

I never put a radiator guard on my bike. I've had a ton of bikes and never had an issue, but you're right, you never know when something bad like that will happen. I'll install one of these on my V4 just to safe. Might have to put it on my X-Diavel as well as I'm right around 3,000 miles with it. As to the plate, I'm fine with keeping that as is. I'm surprised you didn't put new grips on the bike and sliders to help with a drop. Everyone drops the bike eventually, even if its just a drop in the garage or on gravel at a stop sign. Sliders/pucks I find are the #1 thing I put on all my bikes to minimize damage from an accidental drop. An better grips are just nice to have.

The radiator guard is not for sands, it is for small rock around the size bigger than of the hole on the radiator guard, because when you ride almost particle and sand (tiny rocks can easily thrown in cross the radiator guard. I clean my radiator guard every time after riding, so it doesn’t do much of protection (the smaller the holes on the radiator guards, the less air flow for cooling the radiator)

I need your help please. Regarding Tail tidy, @ 9:31 you unplugged a coupler on the left of the vehicle which I couldn't find. Is it hidden deep inside or maybe wrapped? Thanks,

Think the side plate looks excellent! Will consider this for mine. Any indication if the new turn signals are bright enough and sufficiently far from the tail lights to be obvious when on, especially under brake lights?

  • @Motomillion

I will be honest, we have not really taken it out to check, but judging by their previous products and that the turn signals light up amber, it will be visible for sure.

There was an electronic module for the old 1260 where the turn signal which allowed the brake lights to be used as turn signals. May be they can make one for the V4 so you don’t need to add any additional lights on the back.

  • @Motomillion

There is none so far, we looked into it, but the light unit has a single light setup which does not work for right or left turn indicators.

Next mod should be throttle spacers. I have a 1260S (black and steel) and have them, so much better than stock… however, I really wish I could get a shorter twist throttle/tube. On my 2015 cbr1krr I had a modified r6 tube I think it was which made the rotation much shorter. However, that was a cable throttle vs this bike with electronic throttle. Any thoughts?

  • @Motomillion

    @Motomillion

    9 ай бұрын

We need to check to see if there is a compatible throttle that is shorter throw on this. Also we are checking to see if we can just make a new throttle tube rather than just adding spacers to them.

What about a domino ride by wire racing throttle? I know they make them for panigales. Wonder if they’d work on the diavels with minor fitting changes.
