Heart used to play a little club in Victoria BC on Vancouver Island when they were recording their album Dreamboat Annie in Vancouver around 1975…They were fabulous then and little did we know how famous they would become over the next few years.
It’s unfortunate that the Wilson sisters don’t recognize that the fans would love to hear these “guys” again on a large stage. They’re all healthy, play at a peak level and rock the first 4-5 albums well. Oh well, it’s a fans dream.

I love the Wilsons as a fan... Sometimes Nancy turns me off a bit. Like with what you said, also she tends to belittle the 80s heart hits, although I think some of that is jealousy that their songs weren't hitting anymore and those big hits were written by outside writers. Anyway, I love old heart and the slick, 80s heart.
Hey John I really like how you get off the beaten path and interview the key members that make up these great rock and roll bands. We all know that Ann and Nancy rocketed to stardom beyond the original band. But there's some real stories personalities and feelings that those other players have looking back retrospectively. Thank you for covering this.
I've lost a lot of respect for Ann and Nancy, especially after the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. To this day, Heart is one of my favorite bands. I even saw them in 2002. Never again. Even today, Ann and Nancy are not currently touring together... to me that speaks volumes of who the issue really was.
I’m with you on Michael D. He’s right up there with Bonzo in my book. Power, taste and groove.

He was an excellent drummer.

Yeah...Exactly. He is Bonzo-esque...but also has sucha cool vision of what the drums can bring to a song. Heart isnt the same with out Mike, Rog,Steve and Mike Fisher.
Derosier has been a favorite drummer since the 1st Heart LP.

Killer Drummer!

He is criminally under-appreciated. He co wrote Mistral Wind...the crowning achievement of the Band. And he's humble, to boot.

ME TOO!
John , thanks for these interviews with the classic Heart members. The Wilson sisters obviously are an important ingredient to the success of Heart. But, it's great that you have highlighted the contributions of Mike, Steve and Roger (Howard too) all important factors in the success of Heart the band.
These are great interviews. Saw this lineup in 1978 at the Champagne Jam at Hughes Stadium at Sacramento City College in Sac, CA. Great show. My favorite lineup of the band. It is great to hear from the unsung heroes in bands that normally don't get to tell there story or there side of it. Please do more. Thanks!
Great episode! Hope all these guys know we love them ❤
I am huge fan of heart I meat both Ann & Nancy back stage before a concert in Jan 28th 2011
Heart was my 1st Concert, October 1978! They rocked!
Really enjoyed this!! Thanks!
Another great interview.
It's really interesting hearing Michael talk about working a job while auditioning for Heart because it is similar to Neil Peart's story about working for his Dad while auditioning for Rush. Michael seems like a really down to earth great guy.
I watched the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performance of Heart.Roger Fisher still has great moves and a great player. You could see Nancy glance over at Roger a bit. I thought that was cool. When I saw Heart live in the 70s at the Phoenix Coliseum Roger and Nancy tore the stage up while still playing great. Running at each other at full speed. Great show. Mike even carried Ann off the stage to the back stage area. Sad how the times change. Heart's current band is not a very good line up.

Yeah they haven't had a good lineup in a long time
I do miss the 4 hour version.... :) Seriously though. Great channel and I am happy you're doing it and happy I found it. Thanks!
My first clinic and autograph. Derosier just dropped out. He did some remarkable playing that night
You know what they say, never forget where you came from or what made you. I think Ann and Nancy feel they're above anything related to that original band.
Great job. "Did I try to get an interview with Nancy Wilson? Nope!" Is there a backstory leading to deciding not to reach out to Nancy? I don't know it if there is one.

Good question. Nancy seems shy...but at the same time is as active as ever. I hope she "shows up"
Michael D is a awesome drummer!!❤
I have a question, who wrote Cook with 🔥?
Great video I don’t think you will ever get the sisters because of the baggage
figured nancy would come on there….but not ann….
Heart lost a lot of what made it interesting when Roger left imho.

1000000000000000000000000% Roger was the secret sauce. His creative take on things...made the sauce. You never knew where it was going but it all head meaning...and it held up to repeated listens. Heart needs to regroup with the original wolf-pack.

I agree but you know that is never going to happen.
Heart was a lot different after these 4 were fired, more mellow and boring. It seems like drinking and cheating on girlfriends (the Wilson sisters) took over instead of the magic man band chemistry that was extremely rare.

I never heard about drinking. People cheating? I heard a word or two. I dont think it can be avoided at the those heights for that long. They are musicians...not saints.
Don't pick sides in these internal band squabbles. Really, just stay out of it.
Ann Wilson, no thanks.
dumbest dudes in rock and roll to let those 2 fine ladies slip away
