I had a burst fire issue with a 45 ACP blowback AR. This is why I only load three rounds at a time when testing a new blowback setup, or, switching to different ammo. Actually, the the gun ran VERY well with steel cased ammo, but when I switched to some MIL surplus ammo, I had issues. Sounds like from your video I need to add more weight in the buffer. I don't see a lot of good info on 45 ACP like I do 9mm. I guess I'll try a 10 oz weight; I was using 8.5. [EDIT] So as a followup, I looked at Macon Armory's offering in 45 ACP and they use an 11 oz. weight. That's telling.

You might also want to address the situation where a trigger becomes increasingly heavy or "frozen" to the point where the trigger can't be pulled.

had an issue with a ke arms kp-9 lower when i changed form a standard GI style safety to a ke arms 45-degree short throw. the issue seemed to stem from the tolerances on the new safety and the tolerances on the rise armament blitz trigger i had been using. replaced the trigger with a ke arms trigger and the issue seems resolved so there is also the possibility that not only could the trigger just not work for 9mm but the trigger/safety combo as well. should also note, the kp-9 is a polymer monolithic lower, i have used a 45 degree safety (i don't remember the maker) with the rise trigger in my aero EPC-9 lower with 0 issues for the past 2 or so years. this leads me to believe that there is some room for compatibility issues between the lower, the safety and the trigger as it relates to disconnecter slipping.

My 16" PCC also has a KE arms kp-9 polymer monolithic lower. So far everything shoots great. I did replace the KE 5.4oz solid buffer with a KAK 4" long 8.4oz buffer with weights/pads inside. I am still using the KE supplied trigger & safety.

Wish I watched this right before ordering my triggers. Thought AR triggers are universal and bought Geissele triggers. Installed it last night just to find out on the functions check it wouldn’t reset. Had to put the MIL-Spec trigger on for now until I get something better to replace it

@@Blowback9 I found the list and ordered the ALG ACT triggers. At least the Geissele triggers won’t go to waste I have a few AR builds that need Geissele triggers

Your hatred for the .308 spring is comical……I hear ya! Appreciate the wisdom, oh yeah burst is frowned upon by the AFT😂

It gets even more comical in the next video or two (can't remember which). Some day soon I'm going to do a video just on .308 springs.

So I recently built a 9mm AR, I put around 1k rounds through it with zero issues. Recently it started to have the double and triple fires. I disassembled the gun and noticed I had a broken trigger pin. I replaced that and the problem was still happening. I noticed the disconnector had a divot where the hammer was hitting. I want to say I will probably have to remove the hammer tail to get it to work properly? Although the BKING FIREARMS BCG seems to be ramped and shouldn’t cause this. However if getting rid of that tail will prevent this from the future, I’ll certainly do it. Let me know your opinion. Important components list: -K-SPEC Enhanced AR15 PCC Buffer 7.8oz -BKING FIREARMS 9mm BCG -BALLISTIC ADVANTAGE ENHANCED 9mm barrel -DPMS Style FCG

Good point about the trigger pin! Sounds like you are on the right track with the hammer tail.

Update: cut the hammer tail off and made sure even in its furthest position it doesn’t touch the disconnector, 100rds and zero burst fire. We’ll see if anything happens in the next 900rds. And great video.

i know the gentle recoil is for felt recoil not muzzle flip? Maybe consider testing the best methods to reduce muzzle flip? i believe there are tons of comp shooters who look for advice here, like me.

What happens if you're having the same problem with an arma spec instead of a stock spring

  • @Blowback9

Ditch the Armaspec for the right spring and buffer? Most captured spring systems work great in 5.56mm, but have too light reciprocating mass for reliable blowback operation and may be oversprung.
