4 College Football Stars You COMPLETELY FORGOT About!

Спорт

College football has stars every year, but the ones who never make it to the NFL, we tend to forget. It's good to reminiscence on how dominant some of these players once were.

Jordan Lynch was seriously a glitch. Watching him play was seriously like watching someone making a 99 overall QB in madden and playing on rookie. Not to mention his willingness to break tackles to get the first down was insane.

I went to K-State when Collin was our qb and those were some of my favorite wildcat years, not just because of our success but because of how he ran with the ball and plowed over linebackers game after game. He was always bleeding yet didn't care and lowered his shoulder again. Optimus Klein was the MVP in the 2012 season and should have won the Heisman. Now he is our co-O coordinator. PS. He also had more rushing TD's and yards in 2011, he also ran a lot more than 2012 with over 300 carries.

I find it interesting that Tebow, Klein and a bunch others wouldn't change position even though they had all the athletics needed to play in the NFL . And now they are not playing. However you have Edelman and Payor who were QBs turned WRs and now they excel at their positions. It goes to show you if you get a chance you should take it.

I know this one is a little older than the past decade, but one that comes to mind for me is Danny Wuerffel from 93-96. Dude had some of the freakiest passing numbers you'll ever see in college, won 4 conference titles, and played for 2 national titles. At the time when he played, he was only the 2nd QB of all time to have 100+ TD passes.

I'm not gonna say I remember all of them, but I remember how good the teams were at the time, if you didn't notice, Boise st had Kellen Moore(of course) and Titus Young, both played for the lions, Kellen backed up to Stafford and Titus was in Calvins shadow, Kellen is a 3rd string qb on the Cowboys now, Titus is now in prison for 4 years.

Alpha Countdown lists Right, at the time Auburn, Oregon, and TCU were all undefeated and ranked ahead of Boise State in the BCS and none of those 3 lost a game during the regular season, So Boise probably ends #4 in the BCS and at the time I think they only allowed 1 non AQ team in major bowl games at the time so Boise would have gone to the Vegas Bowl even at 12-0

I love your inclusion of factoids from the CFL. Warren Moon, Joe Theisman and Raghib Rocket Ismael all played there, and as a different league from the NFL is a place where many small but fast players end up with respectable careers. It's fun to watch too as it's way more focussed on passing than running (bigger field, 3 vs 4 downs, less time to put the ball in play between downs, etc.) Would love to have you do a vid on some of the big US college names that went on to play up north and have dominant careers (e.g. Doug Flutie). Cheers, bruh, and much respect from Canada!

I loved those Oregon teams around 2010. On NCAA 2011 the default starter for Oregon was Brady Leaf (Ryan's brother), big slow white guy with a good arm. But you could sub in Darron Thomas who had great speed, and Oregon's playbook had tons of option plays. Running the option with DT and LaMichael was just plain awesome. It's still fun today whenever I dust off the PS2.

"Over the span of the 21st Century, K-State was the laughing stock of the Big XII." No, they weren't. They won the Big XII Title in 2003 with Darren Sproles at RB, defeating the "Greatest Team of All-Time" Oklahoma 35-7. Then, their coach retired - only to come back 4 years later. Even then, they were mostly around .500 in terms of win percentage, as your graph suggests. Considering the only other Big XII North Team to win a Big XII Title in the first decade of the century was Colorado in 2001, I'll gladly re-issue that laughing stock title to Iowa State. This is all coming from a Nebraska fan, by the way.

As a 49ers fan, I'll never forget #2 LaMichael James. I was hyped for the draft pick, he had a great kick return against the Patriots in the regular season that set up a one play TD to Crabtree, along with other quality returns that year. In the super bowl, however, is where he made the biggest impact (negatively) in the game. It was 1st and 10 on the Ravens 24. The 49ers were only losing 7-3 with 12:12 left in the 2nd quarter and trying to take the lead 10-7, or at least close the gap to 7-6 if they make a FG when they handed it off to James. He makes two defenders miss on a play that was going to lose 6+ yards, gets back to the line of scrimmage and he fumbles. The Ravens recover and Flacco goes on a tear, carving up the 49ers secondary and begin the true change in momentum and begins the blow out we all remember.

If it wasn't for that interview though then I would have not remembered any of these guys.
