4.3L V6 TURBO SAVES THE DAY! LET'S TALK TECH

WHO WANTS TO SEE A 4.3L V6 WITH A TURBO? WHO WANT TO SEE THE TURBO COMPARED TO A TORQSTORM CENTRIFUGAL SUPERCHARGER? I THINK THESE TURBO HEADERS CAN ALSO WORK AS SIMPLE LONG TUBES FOR THE NA TESTING.

Tony Angelo recently did a 4.3 turbo using e bay turbo manifolds. This was put into a gen 1 S10 converted to AWD using Astro van parts.

I get the build from a budget and even a nostalgic point of view, I'm 67. We owned both the 3.8 and 4.3 (02 Grand Prix and 02 GMC Sierra). Both were stone cold reliable with 200K+ mileage when sold. However, from a business standpoint I would be surprised if anyone stepped up to the plate with affordable heads and intakes. Today's conglomerate pencil pushers live in a different world. Maybe a guest on your channel from FLOTEC or PROMAXX could weigh in on what it would cost to develop new heads and intakes for the 4.3. Question; Just as the SBC TorqStorm bolted up to your 4.3 I wonder if ProCharger's SBC kit will also bolt up to said 4.3?? Thanks for all that you do!

Far as the v6 cranks in Nascar/ indy they were odd fire or even fire . I still have a buick motorsports steel even fire stroker crank . China is making steel cranks for the 3.8's not sure about the 4.3. Of course they ran bowtie block for chevy and stage2 blocks for the buicks. Available in both off center like factory is and on center so the bore is centered over the crank journal to eliminate side loading with off center rods

When you said cylinder head and intake products are about to change meaning some company's are going to R&D start making these hard to get parts

Is this for a daily driving or race applications. If for the street, where does one have to live and do these things legally? I'm in California and you can't do any of things mentioned and pass the sniffer/computer/visual inspection the nazi's put us through every other year. If you live somewhere you can do this stuff legally, I envy you. For race applications, you have to be careful with the stock pistons and rods. If you go over 450 hp even with opened ring gaps, I heard you are in real danger of breaking something. You can get rods and pistons that can handle power well beyond that, but if you are going to spend all the money and time doing this, with a motor that has very little after aftermarket, you might as well just go the LS swap route. There is a huge aftermarket and the ability to get some real power later if you decide to up the boost. Now you need to consider the balance shaft. I have no idea what will happen with that pos in there and you want to get some higher RPM's out of it, but I can't imagine that balance shaft is helping in any way other than smooth balancing. Which is a problem on these motors. Because of the nature of this motor, they wont run balanced and smooth without that pos. I researched all of this stuff a few years back and came to the conclusion, it is not worth it. It is much easier with a shit load of positives to just doing a LS swap. You can the power of a boosted Vortec with a stock shortblock N/A easily. If you get an aluminiun LS block, you will be just as light as the V6. The only down side is of choosing an LS is the V6 will leave you more room in the engine bay. I have an S-10 and it is crowded in there with the V6. You have to cut into the core support to fit a radiator that will keep a 450 plus HP motor cool. Not to mention the very little room for headers, especially on the drinkers side. No if you put the tubular front frame bolt in gizmos with rack and pinion, you are golden. But then you are getting into a lot more money still. And a big project that will take a long time to complete. I decided to pass. You can a car that will smoke it in the 1/4 and in the corners for less than what it would cost to go through all that project bullshit. Like a 02 Z06 with minimal bolt ons on the LS6. They come with 405 hp stock. In a 3000 lb car. Get 100 more ponies and you are golden with good fuel economy on the street.
